REVIEW: DREAM HOME

As the only person posting at CHUD, however occasionally, who actually gives a shit about DREAM HOME director Pang Ho-Cheung, it's disappointing that the one film of his to warrant a review here is the one that apparently breaks his 9 year streak of awesomeness. The signs have pointed to this being the case for a while now - frankly, he was overdue for a misfire given his level of output. The film has been in post-production hell for approximately a year as he battled with producer-leading actress Josie Ho over the final cut - I had a bad feeling when the first trailer to surface contained zero footage from a film that had finished shooting a year ago. He wrote, filmed, edited, and released his designated-smoking-area romantic comedy LOVE IN A PUFF between wrapping DREAM HOME and the film actually being screened anywhere.

That said, I'm a completist and I wouldn't think of missing this. Hell, I still have to catch up with LOVE IN A PUFF.

Saw this last night and really enjoyed it.  Balances out the slasher elements with flashbacks that actually add dramatic weight to the story.  The film was beautifully shot and had a great score.  It's On-Demand through Comcast at the moment.
