Now it's Jonathan Rhys Meyers flipping out

Ok, this was first reported a few days ago and I declined to start a thread for it. At first, all we knew was that United Airlines banned him for life from all future flights. That was interesting, but not quite post worthy.

Today all that changes though.

Today we learn the reason why he was banned:

He used the N-word

Before I can render judgement I'd need to hear the context. He is a Brit after all. Might have he tried to employ some ill advised slang to lighten the situation? Or was it simply a hateful outburst?

I hope we'll find out in the coming days, and you can bet I'll keep you updated.

PS I like Mr Meyers, sort of. He's not that strong, but he did ok work as Cassander in ALEXANDER (2004), and his work on the TUDORS has been amusing at least.

Uh.....that word is just as bad for whitey to say in UK as it is in US. That said, he's not British. He's Irish.

Ah Ok. His casting in ALEXANDER (2004) makes more sense now.

And yes, it would be bad, but I thought maybe he might have tried calling a black airline employee "My n-word" or something, in a ill advised attempt at bonding. That's what I'm hoping anyway. It's bad to say it in any situation, but you can say it out of stupidity and not hate.

Maybe he really thinks he's Henry VIII.

It's all vague, this story, but I think back to similar shit from Sizemore and Sheen, and it makes me think that "nigger" is perhaps the new "cunt" and vodka is the old vodka.

This kind of drunken behavior should be reserved for actual celebrities.

Yeah, every time this guy's name pops up, I think of John Rhy-Davies.

Doesn't he drunkenly flip out at airports annually at least these days?
