I am offically a kept man.

So it turns out a big chunk of my health problems were stress related. The doctor has signed me off sick for four weeks (my notice period) and told me to find a new job.

The good news is I am starting to feel a lot better; I have a MRI scan this afternoon which will probably show I have gall stones which the stress has been severely aggravating.

The bad new is that I have about 4 weeks to find a job before I become a jobless bum and my wife supports us both.

I'm not surprised with the diagnosis. Last year I had a whole bunch of health problems, yet refused to believe doctors when they told me that all I need to do is calm the fuck down. Turns out they were right.

Good luck with finding a job dude. It's shitty being dependent on someone else.

Stress is one of the great poisons of the soul, I saw it take my dad out at the ripe old age of forty fucking seven, I refuse to let it take me.

Good luck Ken mate.

Thanks guys.

Hopefully the job search won't take too long, I have been applying like crazy since last Wednesday and fingers crossed it will be a short lay off.

Sorry to hear that. I am jobless for similar reasons. Had an episode which lead to me being in rehab for a month in March/April. Whilst there I realised my job was to blame for a lot of my issues and decided to quit. Girlfriend has been supporting me for the last month and I been looking for a job.

So frustrating looking for a job online, everything just leads you through to an agency who just want you on their system and dont put you forward for the role you were interested in. Bastards...

Well back from the hospital and I have gall stones. So it looks like some keyhole surgery is in my future.

Terrorizing Eternia not lucrative enough? Better square something away before Evil-yn makes you sleep on the ol Snake Mountain couch.

Sorry to hear about the gall stones. My ex-GF had her gall bladder removed. I remember her diet having to go through a bit of an overhaul.

Fitting avatar you've got.

Sorry.

Ken,

I hope the stones are obliterated and your health is put squarely back into the green.

EDIT: Some Andy Goldsworthy art to cheer you up!

That's horrible, Ken. Really sorry to hear it. All the best for a swift, total recovery and successful job-search!

Best wishes to you, Ken! For what it's worth, this experience may provide you with plenty of fodder for future blog entries!

no one even on the internet is that desperate to see pics of me in an MRI machine.

Although it was kinda cool.

MRI machine? Don't start running over guys in wheelchairs and beating the crap out of teachers, OK?

Yeah, strangly enough I was at the doctors again today. Now they know what it is they can prescribe some really hefty painkillers to take while I wait for an operation. Ironically I'd have gone private if I still had a job.

On the plus side my wife bought me Red Dead Redemption the other day so at least I have that to look forward to.

Well painkillers and RDR should be fun at least.. but still. I've been thinking about your medical issue the past few days and it's pretty awful to think about stones forming inside your body. Ugh. You have my sympathies. My dad tells me that because I eat so many mint TUMS I am going to develop stones (from the calcium?), but that sounds dubious at best.

It's completely and totally accurate at best. And you're gonna develop a kidney stone at worst.

Also - feel better, Ken.

I've passed a gall stone AND a kidney stone, Ken. Truly, you have my sympathies on the pain that you're suffering. Best of luck!
