I think you mean "20 Dollar" here. The one with the "Where Is My Mind" tag in the chorus, right? The craziest thing about that oppressive bassline is that it's just a slowed down version of the bassline from New Order's "Blue Monday."

I love how dense the songs on Kala are. That's why I don't get Alex's argument that her samples aren't in the spirit of hip hop - that busy-ness reminds me of hip-hop before it got too expensive to sample at will. The only difference is that her soundscapes rely less on Western music and are thus harder to pick apart.

Maybe, but it's also really obvious that Hirschberg is the one who ordered those fries. She insisted that she "had to try them." To use that and frame an image of hypocrisy around that is all sorts of unethical.

Honestly, she brings this level of scrutiny upon herself. If you wade into political advocacy like she has, people (and more importantly the press) are going to check whether she can back it up.
