From Noon Till Three (1976)

Starred Charles Bronson and Jill Ireland.

The trailer billed the movie as "Charles Bronson as you've never seen". That's right, folks, Bronson in...a romantic comedy.

The 1st and 2nd acts of the movie are great...but then it turns into one of the saddest movies ever. The ending is just tragic.

The whole movie just begs for a happy ending. I don't know how many have seen it but I'll put it in spoiler text: So after finally getting out of prison after a case of mistaken identity, Bronson finds out he's famous because of Amanda's book about their three hours together. Then he sees her and she doesn't recognize him. Then when she finally does, she refuses to run away with him and wants to protect the legend of the book at all costs. Since if they see him alive, or see her with another man, everyone will backlash against it. So she fucking shoots herself. He escapes. Is fucking angry and depressed because no one believes he's himself, Graham Dorsey. Not even people who knew him personally. He goes on a binge, shoots a dude, is seen as a huge dick, and punches everybody. The film ends with him in a mental asylum, greeted by fellow mental patients who finally call him Graham Dorsey . Fucked up.

I mean I'm impressed they had the balls to go with that ending, but I wish it had a happy one where maybe Amanda faked her death too and surprises him later. Now they can run away together without spoiling the book.

On the bright side, it's definitely not predictable. Ha.

Seriously? No one's seen this?

Someone discussed it in the Bronson thread. It's yet another one run often on MGMHD but I haven't seen it yet.

It's been a long time, can't remember that much about it other than it was kind of sweet, and a very "different" film from Bronson, much more tender and comedic than usual (always thought there was some untapped comedy potential there, just watch that scene where he's trying to teach the villagers how to use guns in The Magnificent Seven- "just use it like a club!")

Though I do remember one bit where he's smiling that Cheshire Cat smile of his, and asks the Jill Ireland character "Do you know what an erection is?"

Haha, yeah I remember the erection line. "I...can't get it up!"

He pretty much tries to rape Jill Ireland in the beginning. I think Rocky learned his skills from Bronson.
