2010 MTV Movie Awards

So I thought this was surprisingly entertaining. Aziz Ansari did really well and everyone seemed to be having fun. It was also fun to learn that Robert Pattinson has way more personality than Kristen Stewart.

Tom Cruise, of course, stole the show. His PR team are brilliant.: http://www.mtv.com/videos/misc/52446...tml#id=1640376

Funny NYTimes photo essay today of Stewart's lack of reaction during various cutaway shots to her and Pattinson during the event: http://artsbeat.blogs.nytimes.com/20...er=rss&emc=rss

I don't think that's a surprise to anyone but you.

Yeah, Cruise was pretty brilliant out there. While I think Scientology is moronic I don't think he's deserved most of this backlash he's gotten over the past however many years its been. He's a damn fine actor and entertainer, and he showed it here.

Nearly all the rest of the show sucked, though I did enjoy Katy Perry and her sluts imitating giving bjs while her ginormous breasts jiggled about.

I've finally became old enough to not care about this anymore.

I do find it hilarious that Aziz either intentionally (funny) or unintentionally (funnier) dissed Russell "Bland".

I FFW most of it after watching between breaks in the Hawks game. Ken Jeong did his best Clint Howard.

Aziz was bad. The skits sucked and his monologue didn't crack me up.

The winners were obvious to any 12 year old girl. I can't hate the winners because the voting is pointless.

Pattinson hasn't been in a good movie yet but he seems fun in interviews. Doesn't take himself or Edward as seriously has Stewart does.

Also, did Cristina Aguilera actually wear this?! Yeah, I don't think the Care Bear Stare emanating from her crotch will make guy's cream in their pants.

Yes, and the song was about her vag.

That Floptina medley was awful.

So they somehow managed to stretch the already thin gag of a fat vulgar Tom Cruise dancing even thinner? It wasn't that funny then. It's not that funny 2 years later. But I always admire the energy Cruise puts into that gag.

I don't care about it either. But not because of age. Nothing they do anymore seems to catch my interest especially when it's competing against the Stanley Cup Finals and to a lesser extent the NBA Finals.

They'll never top giving Chewbacca a lifetime achievement award. That shit was emotional.

Sandra Bullock? Boring!

Yeah, when it started I was certainly thinking "this is two years too late" but him pulling off the dance moves in that fat suit with J-Lo was pretty impressive.

I was damn impressed that he pulled off the trampoline bounce and started dancing without missing a beat. And, of course, pimp cane.

Betty White was hilarious. I hope she lives forever.

Back in the day the Movie awards had Lifetime Achievement awards that they gave as a joke to people like Chewbaca and Godzilla. Then they gave it to Clint Howard and he took it seriously and gave a real emotional speech like Jeong did.
To be fair he had one emotional moment that really wasn't about the award, but thanking and acknowledging someone in the room about helping him, and he immediately followed it up with some expletives in his Hangover accent.

I have never seen a frame of Twilight, but yes, I would see "Bad-Ass Cops." Okay, I wouldn't, but those fucking mustaches killed me.

Kristin Stewart's acceptance speech. Holy crap, talk about contempt and boredom. That the only Twilight joke to make her laugh involved Isreal and Palestine was funnier than the joke itself.

Also in the "holy crap" files: Anna Kendrick's boobs.

Kristen Stewart's been a miserable bitch for quite some time, and her misery over being famous is over-the-top. Her recent idiotic comment where she compared getting her picture taken by paparazzi to being RAPED was the last straw for me. I don't like Twilight or their batshit fans, but those batshit fans are the reason her ungrateful ass is even in that room, and she ought to act accordingly.

It's at the point where the misery has doubled back around to being fucking hilarious. When she introduced the Twilight clip, it was like you could hear the unspoken words at the end of that sentence:

"Here's Twilight: Eclipse...fuck my life."

I cracked up. And I think that she'd be getting the same types of roles she gets now, even without Twilight. Maybe she wouldn't be winning MTV Movie Awards, but she's getting consistently good notices for stuff like Runaways and Adventureland. The big test will be if she wins the Girl With The DRagon Tattoo part, but I think she's going to be reluctant to sign on to another mega-franchise...but, you know, for adults.

I really think that as long as Stephanie Meyer's adaptations aren't finally done with, they shouldn't bother doing these shows anymore...it'll save a lot of money.

I dare anyone here to tell me Pattison didn't entertain the "all i have to do is slam this award down as hard as i can, and it will be all over" thought here.

Her legs and very short skirt were pretty damn nice too.

Is her being cast for Wanted 2 a done deal? Or were those just names being tossed about?
