The newly-crowned knight seems a tad bit smashed, eh?

It's ok. He's seen everything. He's seen it all.

This wasn't too bad, but it shows you've got to bring your A game when you go after professional comedians. It doesn't happen often, but I cringe whenever I see someone (actors on talk shows, hecklers in a crowd, etc...) try to match wits with a comedian - a guy/gal who has to be quick on their feet by trade, has a bag of quips and barbs for every occasion in his/her head, and is used to dealing with heckling.

I'm not even sure Stewart would have had to bring his A game to trade the kind of barbs the comedian was using. It was both pretty half-assed on both parts.

I tend to think it was just some back and forth and looked and felt more awkward than it did to the two of them.

Was the Jonas Brothers quip just that much of a misfire, or did it go right over my head completely?

That was a classy save attempt by Saldana.

Please don't refer to Corden as a 'professional comedian'. He's fat. He does what thin people do and, because he's fat, people laugh. He is not funny, nor clever. Do not give him attention.

Thank heavens for you Ben Thomas. I'm not sure what the ratio of Brits to Americans is here but for those who are unfamiliar with Corden he found fame on a relatively funny sitcom and just won't go away. He produced a sketch show and without exageration 60% of the "sketches" ended with him displaying his stomach. His popularity literally angers me. Sir Patrick is a man of class and should not be spoken to like that.

To think that justa couple hundres years ago, Sir patrick could had beheaded that guy on the spot, on account of being a knight.
Classy move by Zaldana to ease the tension and salvage the ceremony.

Yeah, it doesn't matter how drunk or unfunny Stewart was, he still wins for putting down that unfunny tosser who is absoulutely everywhere now spreading his mirthless 'humour'. He's even on Doctor Who this week which has me a bit worried as it has been consistently great this season.

What was the point of all that? Is that knighthood going to Stewart's head?
Well, it might be going to his head, but I think it is more about the presenter. Even if you are presenting the Spooner Street Neighborhood Watch Alliance's Annual Gala Awards to your jackass neighbors for stalking each other, you do it with enthusiasm, which is what the first part of that clip shows Sir Patrick lecturing about. Even if Stewart is drunk of his ass, the classier way of winning is to accept the criticism, let him go back to his seat, then ask for them to call a taxi.

Although, the way the two of them were whispering when Saldana was on stage was odd to me. Staged angst to get in the tabloids?

The guy wasn't funny, but he makes a living in the comedy game (which is why I referred to him as a professional) and so was at least able to finish speaking whereas Stewart just stopped abruptly and stared blankly after getting halfway through his jokes.

Ahahahahahahahahaha. Thinking of that episode never fails to make me weep sweet tears of laughter.

Stewart has been doing the Star Trek thing too long, he's started to emulate William Shatner.

Poor Patrick Stewart, it looked like he was attempting a roast but he was drunk, I really wanted to see Patrick get into an actual fight, I was hoping that the two would start getting into a shoving match while the woman pretended everything was ok.

Oh god. James Corden. Has he not gone away yet? I'm surprised he didn't try and do that robot dance thing to wow the audience with his comedic nous.
All he needed to do when Corden was telling him he was dying was to say
"At least I never made Lesbian Vampire Killers."
Corden is unfunny. And obnoxious. And stinks. Probably.
Count me in with the Corden loathers... that gigantic, lard laden humour void drained all my enthusiasm for England in the World Cup with his painfully shit show long before the team crashed out so spectacularly

The man's a cunt.

Here, here! I'm not even huge into Patrick Stewert but he is at least a gentleman.

I didn't know Sean Astin and Andy Richter had a baby together.
