Blade: The Series

I revisited this recently. There's some great potential and episodes in it. Especially those that revisited Blade's origin (Stepping Razor) and were a bit more Vampire Nation focused.

What struck me though on how weak Blade is as a fighter. "Sticky" Jones plays a servicable Blade and he gets better as the series. But his Blade seems to get his ass kicked all the time.

But all in all I enjoyed it. Wish we got a 2nd Season. I'd heard that Goyer as the Executive Producer was planning to have The Reapers show up there.

I watched the pilot when it first aired a few years back. All I can remember is Randy Quaid namedropping Moon Knight. Guess it didn't make much of an impression.

But I would watch a show with Randy Quaid hanging out with Moon Knight.

I came to quite like the world they were setting up by the end of the series. Think it got cut down too soon, no pun intended. But to be honest, one of the things I really liked about it was the fight scenes - they were alot more rough & tumble, a bit more balanced and a hell of alot more realistic than the films. Definitely an acquired taste, but I really dug it.

Plus it had some great lines, too.

"Don't you know, the enemy of my enemy is my friend?"

"Yeah, well I got no problem killing my friends, either."
