E3 2010 - Page 6

Only Kid Dracula for me, thanks.

All I need.
I guess I'll have to rock the Alucard then.
As long as my character gets to wear dead, smelly dog-pelts as a blouse, I'm in.

So, nobody's taking Syfa Belnades, eh?

Suckers.

Also, KINECT = OFFICIALLY JUSTIFIED.

Body interactive current gen Rez sequel.

Mother. Fucking. Sold.

This Ubisoft keynote started out so well with Assassin's Creed, and then it turned into the fucking Wii Music presentation, and even Joel McHale seems visibly confused about where the video games went.

I need to preorder that yesterday.

As for Castlevania, if the screens that popped up online months ago werent mock ups, it emans they will use Alucard and the modern characters, like Charlotte from POR and Shanoa from Ecclessia.
If there's no Belmonts then, I'll take Shanoa.

More workout games, great.

God dammit Ubisoft. All you had to do was announce Beyond Good & Evil 2 and I would have forgiven you wasting our time with a ridiculous laser tag game and the fucking stress relief thing (though if you don't drop your ass backwards DRM scheme I probably wouldn't have bought it), but no, we get a new (albeit very pretty) Rayman game, and a whole ton of bullshit.

If they aren't showing it this year, it's probably dead in the war :'(

Project Dust looks interesting, scratching my Populous/Black&White itch, plus Eric Chahi is involved in making it.

Fable 3, now i'm gonna have to dress up like Richard Sharpe in the game.

Metal Gear Solid Rising looks... SLICE!
I'm usually a bit of an MGS apologist, but I'm not sure what to make of the Raiden game. Seems to be more of a physics demo than anything else right now.
So Im watching the xbox presentation on tv at the moment, and so far Ive seen another bloody Call Of Duty, another bloody Gears Of War, another bloody Metal Gear Solid and an append that turns my 360 into a Wii. It's pretty fucking lacklustre.
I fucking knew it. Now that Crytek is also developing for consoles suddenly console fanboys dropped the whole "meh" act. Now instead of tech demos that require a million dollar PC to play and aren't even that good, Crytek's games are worth shitting your pants about. I can't believe people are that married to a fucking piece of plastic under their TV.

This is good for Crytek though. maybe this time the US press will pay them some attention.

Edit: Since I don't want to come off as some negative Nancy here is the new trailer for Bioware's Star Wars: The Old Republic. The game probably won't be anything like that but damn, it's an awesome cinematic nonetheless.
I love how the biggest pop MS got during their press conference was for the free xBox 360 Slim giveaway.

So yeah, Kinect is pretty cool tech, with some decent games for it coming out. Everyone's reaction seems to be kinda down on it but developers seem to have a better sense of how to make games for it, as opposed to the Wii. That said, the games are totally designed to hit certain demos. Here's the game for girls! Here's the game for old people! Here are the games for kids! Here are the games for urban youth!
The thing is that MS technically didn't do anything wrong. They showed some stuff from Halo and Metal Gear Solid: Rising which are there two biggest games of the year, they secured a massive chunk of the insanely massive COD audience and the Kinect seems to have got people chattering. The problem is we all kind of knew about this stuff already, it would have been nice to have been taken by surprise.
Just one example of how Kinect would help improve the experience on the kinds of games I like to play would have been nice.

MGS: Cutting seems like it should have plenty of room for Kinect based chopping action.
Every Kinect demo had a quarter-second delay between body movement and screen response. Unless you like to play things like Magic: The Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalkers, I'm afraid Kinect will help improve exactly zero existing games.

Sony and Nintendo, right?
You're right. Anyone up for chat during the streams?
Absolutely. Good morning every one.
We are on.
God, i had forgotten how much i hated Reggie.

Well, they didn't wait any time to announce Zelda.
Least surprising surprise in the history of un-surprising surprises.
Nobody expects Shigeru Miyamoto!
Link?
Hhhm, 1:1 movements in a Zelda game looks like a complete ball ache. Like the design though, looks a little more cartoony than Twilight Princess.
The controls are failing miserably so far.

Sword Beams! That alone makes this game awesome.
Welp, that's definitely another Zelda game. 1:1 is not quite 1:1.
Looks pretty. Illustrated without as heavily stylized as Wind Waker.

Heh, Miyamoto having some issues with the motion controls though.
This is the best link I've found so far.

It seems closer to 1:1 than anything else I've seen. You're kind of obsessed with controller fidelity aren't ya?

Man, if this game was on the Gamecube or a platform with a proper controller I'd be all over it. I can't help but think about how much of a drag stabbing the air for forty hours was with the Twilight Princess.

ZELDA 4 LIFE.
Looks dreadful.
Yeah, the controls and implementation keep getting worse.
Man, these fucking controls just look obnoxious.
So far I'm sticking with Dark siders. Does he just suck or are the controls horribly failing? Jesus.
Ughhhh! This is painful to watch.
I think there's actually an issue with the connection. I mean Twilight Princess had better implementation than this.
Embarrassing is the only word that comes to mind.
Will be interesting to see how the demo on the show floor plays.
Assuming that the controls aren't as broken as they're currently looking, this looks kind of cool. I'll wait for the reviews, though.
Something's wrong with the demonstration and/or Miyamoto sucks. Similar controls have worked fine in other games.

Aaaand delayed until 2011. So maybe not.
They should have stuck with the trailer. Live gameplay ruined them.
I dunno. It's tough to be excited by it. It's Twilight Princess with more Wiiness.
The trailer looks fun. Already looks like they're trying to implement some new stuff into the inventory, dungeons and I kind of love the visual scheme.
