I saw this two nights ago. I got it out for two reasons:
1) Thomas Jane (oddly enough, he's credited as 'Tom Jane' on the DVD cover)
2) Thomas Jane with a South African accent
I guess I was fairly satisfied on the first count, but his accent was kind of dubious and alot less fun than 'T.I.A.' DiCaprio's work in BLOOD DIAMOND.
The film is a fairly standard heist flick that stands out because of it's setting and the backdrop of Apartheid. The film dabbles with politics, but in the end it's just about Jane robbing a bunch of banks in a series of increasingly ridiculous outfits.
The supporting cast is strong, and since SA is sort of in vogue right now (what with INVICTUS being released tomorrow and the world cup going on as we speak) you might want to check it out if you've not seen it already.
PS It's based on a real story, and so I guess I can't credit the writers with it, but I liked the ending. It was bleak and pointless and unexpected.
