Diablo II Virginity

Alright, so I decided to buy Diablo II and its expansion pack, Lord of Destruction.

Never played this game before so if any seasoned adventurer out there can give me some tips on what to do or what not to do it'd be great. I've finished 4 quests in act one so far.


Any good mods? Tips on combat/spells? Etc?

I was thinking of replaying this, actually.

What to do? Be a necromancer.
What not to do? Not be a necromancer.

Lots of people will now disagree, obviously.

About mods. The only ones that come to mind are either widescreen mods or maphacks. Do not try to play on Battle.net with either or you can kiss your game goodbye.

Really great game and it still holds up pretty well.I had a Max level poison and bone Necromancer back in the day. Could just look in the general direction of enemies and they'd die. I can't wait for Diablo 3 to hit,I may just re-install this for a quick fix.

I love how this game is still about $30 in stores.. The game is over 10 years old and Blizzard still is releasing updates.

YES! I loved my spearazon, she could clear hell Cow level by herself in 5 minutes if I didn't get a bad set up from the cow king. Pierce + Lightning Fury = lots of fried beef. Good times.

I was a Barbarian all the way; double wield 2 flmaberges or battle axes, and just plowed through whatever hell threw at me.

I liked the strafe-azon and paladin back in the day. Never used mods. There's a lot to like, but honestly there is too much f*cking clicking in this game. I seriously sprained my finger holding down and clicking the mouse button for this.

WoW ultimately replaced DII for me. Less of the 1 vs 20 combat, but I like the talent trees and equiping stuff in WoW more.

The most fun of my builds was a melleemancer. A necromancer with points mostly spent on strength and curses. Kind of an evil paladin. Starts out difficult but becomes a monster later on especially in hell.

agree'd. I found great pleasure in brutally destroying a full-screen of creatures.

might have to drag this out again....

Barbarian or Necromancer. I'm not sure why they put those bonus classes in the game, but it's a nice touch.

I think I may copy Kyler and give this a good old reinstall to sate my thirst for D3.

My fave D2 playthrough was as werewolf Druid who summoned a Grizzly Bear. Crazy fun. I think I summoned other stuff too - ravens? It's been a while.
