Actually, 50 did. Kinda. He and Kanye had albums out on the same day a little while ago, and 50 said that if Kanye outsold him the first week, he would retire. Kanye outsold him, and 50 didn't keep his end of the deal.

I could have sworn Eminem mentioned retiring in the press post-Encore. I don't think he ever made a solid announcement, but there were allusions made that he'd be walking away.

I swear that I remember Eninem saying he was retired/retiring. I read an article about it in NEWSWEEK or TIME or something, back in the day.
