Need Wednesday to come.
Amare got his inflated numbers in Phoenix thanks to Steve Nash feeding him the ball, and he won't get this luxury in New York. Aside from the knee, Amare also had that eye surgery awhile ago, and he's no way a 5-year, 100M kind of player. Along with Joe Johnson, Amare is yet another player who gets way overpaid thanks to those teams being afraid to be going home empty-handed from the LeBron/Wade/Bosh sweepstakes, so they have max deals with players who aren't really elite players but getting paid like one.

There's just something inside my brain that can't fathom how Amare ($100 mil) and J. Johnson ($119 mil) can get this type of money. They're good players, all stars even, but that's just superstar money and these guy ain't it. Superstars are few and far between (Kobe, Lebron, Melo, Durant, Wade), not even Bosh is superstar caliber in my eyes.

It's just crazy for me to see these signings. Big ol' wtf!

I'm not sure I'd put Durant or Melo in the same category as Kobe or James, but your point is well taken.
LeBron is confirmed to have joined Twitter, and his Twitter name is kingjames (duh). Interestingly, in his bio he calls himself King of Akron. I guess that puts to rest what team he will end up with in this free agency craze.
So Bosh to Miami, to join up with Wade.

LeBron with his one hour ESPN special tomorrow to make his announcement. I still think he stays in Cleveland. Can't fathom him going to Miami too. If LeBron leaves Cleveland, I'd like to think he'd go to the Bulls, but I'd say more likely he goes to the Knicks.
If he really wants to win, he'll go to Chicago. Him and Amar'e in NY aren't going to win anything, not with the "system" D'Antoni has in place.

I'm officially sick of LeBron, by the way. If he was all about winning he'd take a discount, stay in Cleveland and tell them to use that cash to bring in a quality sidekick to help them out. I cannot wait if he goes to the Knicks so I can actively start hating him.

I'm trying to think what will be the worse contract this season: Joe Johnson at the max or Rashard Lewis amount?
Chicago is anxious to welcome a max contract free-agent to the city, after years of working towards it. I just hope it's not a max-contract Carlos Boozer. Might not be worth giving away Kirk Hinrich for nothing.
LeBron really needs one hour in prime time to tell us the name of a team? What an ego.

And Miami won 43 and 47 games the last two seasons with Dwayne Wade. The Toronto Raptors won 33 and 40 with Chris Bosh. Does putting the two of them together really make Miami some kind of instant contender?
In the Eastern Conference, with both of them trying, yes.

This is going to be a new era in basketball as after the 2011 lockout, guaranteed contracts will be gone and players are going to have to work to earn money. Everyone is setting up for that impending reality.
I just remember there being some knocks on Bosh for being soft in Toronto. Not saying it's a bad pick-up by any stretch, but I don't know if I'm ready to hand them the East right now just because Wade and Bosh are on the same team.
Chicago's big announcement will come Friday. Michael Jordan will come out of retirement again.
Exxxxxcellent.

An over the hill Jordan with his Hitler moustache suiting up again sounds like just about the greatest thing ever.

Good news-I can hate LeBron again. I have a new person to hate in Wade for being a dick to the Bulls and using his kids in the media for sympathy.

Bad news. The best left is Boozer, Lee, and...?

Atleast the Bulls aren't stuck with Amare.

Carmello. Come to Chicago.

*Clippers continue their winning ways by hiring Vinny Del Negro.

Kyle Korver!!!

Potential free-agents for next year, Carmello and I think Durant? Won't they feel compelled to extend their contracts and get big money? Because I don't think the free-agent fiasco of this summer will be repeated.

I'd kill for Durant.

Be interesting if Den and Okl lock up their players befor the lockout. I'm sure the players will want it.

More good news-Still have the Blackhawks.

I hope so. Will still have Deng but will help in future.

So I'm listening to ESPN radio and Cowherd just made some reference to LeBron being betrayed by his teammate, and he's not allowed to talk about it. So, uh, Delonte West really did sleep with his mom?
I was listening too, yeah, I guess it's true. I did think it was bullshit but that was pretty much a confirmation on the motherfucking.

Was watching ESPN and Coward was saying nobody at ESPN is allowed to talk about and NY papers were begged by Lebron not to run the story.

Now that LeBron is staying He will hear all about his mom sleeping around from Knick, Net, and Bull fans. Not to mention some players.
The last thing I wanna see LeBron coming back here. It just gives Cleveland fans more hope and there's nothing better than a Cleveland sports fan suffering.

Schadenfreude yes, but this is the life of a Pittsburgher.

That team will last for 1000 seasons.

Cleveland will win 50-60 games again and will be a bust in the playoffs with their roster. Unless they get a stud for Delonte West they won't go nywhere.

If James had played like a superstar, they could have won the whole thing this year. So I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you're wrong.

You don't win a championship by yourself. James was good enough to get a bad team to the Finals a few years ago but not good enough to win it all. LeBron isn't that great.

Durant 5 yrs/86 million extension
Carmello.

*Why do people think James will still go to Miami? No way he is 3rd guy in.

Obviously their powers combined will win between 76 and 87 games. Christ I hate Wade.

I know people think LeBron is going back to Cleveland. I don't. It's been rumored pretty consistently for a while that Delonte "Pistols&Herpes" West banged LeBron's mom. I think dude just needs to get out of that whole situation. Chicago is the smart money at this point, to team up with Derrick Rose. Pretty much every other team that was courting him is out, except the Clippers and Dallas, and neither one of those is happening (although either one would be a hugely entertaining surprise).
There's no way LeBron goes to Cleveland without Bosh, and I just can't see LeBron taking out an hour of prime time on ESPN to announce he's following Dwayne Wade to Miami.

It's either Chicago or New York at this point.
I don't see how LeBron can go to Chicago and know that he'll always have to win at least 6 championships to be considered the best player ever for that city.
Where is this Delonte West story coming from?

When James announces he's returning to Cleveland in prime time tomorrow--spurning the bright lights of Chicago, New York, and L.A.-- he'll be a local hero for the rest of his life, regardless of whether he ever takes his team all the way to the championship. From then on out whatever he does is gravy.

On the other hand, if goes elsewhere, nothing he could do would ever be enough. He'd never live up to the hype and impossible expectations.

The choice is obvious.

So many people say that, but if he thinks that he might be in danger of getting out of his 20's without one ring, do you really think he's going to be worried about catching Jordan's six? If he's of the opinion that if he was going to win in Cleveland with what he's got it would have happened already, then what are his alternatives? And if ego really is informing his decision that much, would being co-stars with Wade necessarily be preferable to playing in Jordan's shadow?

Started on Terez Owens and has been backed up by a few people who heard about it from close sources. ESPN isn't allowed to talk about it because they want access to LeBron.

West had his playing time cut in the last 3 games and James disappeared the last 3.

If he won one in NY he would be loved there forever. Chicago know there will never be another Jordan and don't expect 6. Sure the media will play that up but we know it's not happening.

The King of Akron. A much better title than an NBA championship.

He'll be a local hero next to Albert Belle and Bernie Kosar. Cleveland sports suck and always will. It's devoid of athletic greatness post 1960.
I have to believe that Bosh would have gone to Chicago if Lebron was going there. It looks to me like Lebron decided to stay in Cleveland and couldn't convince Bosh to join him in such a small market, so Bosh chose Miami. It seems more likely to me that Lebron stays in Cleveland or joins in Miami than him going to Chicago at this point.
Radio rumor has it that LeBron's on Micky Arison's private jet heading towards South Beach at this very moment. Who knows if it's true, but a girl can dream.

D-WADE, and Chris Bosh in Miami is...NBA JAMTASTIC. Not only will they be...Awesome, on court, but the...NBA JAM Miami Heat, will be kicking tail as well. As the saying goes, "If you cannot beat the...Heat, get out of the kitchen!"

LeBron is already the "King of Akron", but what he wants is legacy, and being the hero of your hometown doesn't do much to put you on the pedestal of the greatest NBA players with Russell, Magic, Bird, Jordan, and now Kobe.

Despite Bosh is set to join Wade in Miami, I don't see LeBron going there, because not only will he have to take less money (Heat still can't afford 3 max contract players), he'll be playing second banana to Dwayne Wade, and I don't see how he can set his ego aside for that. He'll be far more likely to stay in Cleveland, but if he doesn't I think Chicago will be the next likely destination.
There are no perfect choices, short of Cleveland landing LeBron the pieces he needs, which, despite years of effort, hasn't happened yet. If he does end up in Miami, it'll be fun watching that team in the regular season, and rooting against them in the playoffs.

If it wasn't really happening, I'd swear it was some mockumentary about the over-entitled, raging out-of-control ego of the superstar athlete.

I see it as LeBron's version of Fear of a Cavs Cap.

That wasn't up to snuff man. A for effort and all that...I've just come to expect more from you.

Does anybody remember when no one thought Jordan could win with Pippen, Grant, Paxon, and Cartwright? It was Michael and the Jordanaires. I mean, circa 88-90, Pippen was a soft joke, and the Oakley trade was an infuriating chemistry killer that had doomed the team to second tier whipping boys of the Pistons, Celtics, and Lakers. Funny how quickly things can change.
..and Paxson was laying the wood to MJ's mom. Yep, it seems like it was only yesterday..

If you're LeBron, and you go to Bosh and ask him to come win a championship with you in Cleveland, only for him to then go off with Dwayne Wade to Miami (and possibly risk $30 million if Toronto was serious about not sign-and-trading him to Miami), why in the world would you then entertain the thought of playing with him in Miami?

The ego it takes to turn this decision into a prime time ESPN event, and the fact that Bosh snubbed him for Miami, tells me he's coming to to NY.

I still think Chicago has a shot, but you have to wonder about their inability to lure Bosh, and whether or not they'd even be able to pick up another max player and sign Noah to an extension moving forward.
I said earlier I thought LeBron would stay in Cleveland, but if he left it would be for the Knicks. Well if it is true that his special airs from Greenwich CT, I'm starting to believe that he's leaving for NYC. If you were staying in Cleveland, you'd make the announcement from Cleveland, I would think.

Bulls management have to be all over Boozer right now.

EDIT 1
I know the Bulls wanted to make their pitch to LeBron as no-nonsense - but you're making a pitch to a room full of 25 year-olds. Is the meeting all about relaxing team rules so LeBron's entourage can travel with the team, have access to the locker-room, allow LeBron to wear headbands, and dance on the sidelines? The money is a given, he's going to get that, but are those other things a priority to Team LeBron? One reason I give the Knicks the edge over the Bulls.

EDIT 2
lol at all the Twitter updates they report about on Chicago radio. Latest is that LeBron's show airs from Allan Houston's home in Greenwich. I guess that could spoil the end of LeBron's TV show tomorrow. Assuming that Tweet is true - and assuming that Houston lives in CT.

EDIT 3
Latest reported Tweets are saying it's not Houston's home, but a Boys and Girls Club. Houston did indeed live in Greenwich at one point, if he doesn't still live there. And he was very active in charities like the YMCA and Boys & Girls Clubs in CT. Sports-talk hosts are despondent right now.

Jared Dudley has tweeted the LeBron is going to the Knicks, that he has sources who said so. The only thing that makes sense there is Dudley hearing it straight from Amare. Dudley is a goofball, but it's not like him to throw this out there unless he believes it for some reason.
Ok mind blown. Lets add up the numbers though if NY gets LeBron and has overpaid for Amare how can they be in the Melo stakes for next year?

Also how can they afford anyone else going forward?
I know you people have heard this from several other people but I gotta say, I have never seen such absolute, unequivocal, media-hype for a guy who has never won jack-shit in his life. Oh wait, didn't Lebron win somekind High School bullshit league championship or something. ? But in the NBA win a ring, hell win a game in the Finals then maybe you can justify all this obsurd overhype!!

It's not from Amare. His source via TMZ is that LeBron contacted someone from the Knicks.

If true it's awesome. Amare sucks and the Knicks won't win either. They won't get Carmelo next year and they have no young talent. If true it's a money grab.''*sources say Boozer to Bulls 5yr 80 mil-ugh

I think LeBron's one-hour special on ESPN tells me that he'll stay in Cleveland. If he's leaving, I think it'll be alot more low-key, so he won't be offending his fans further with this announcement. I don't think he'd spend an hour telling the city of Cleveland that they've been screwed, and have a nice day.
Boozer is not worth that money man depressing times to be a Bulls fan.
Why would you need a one hour primetime special to announce that you are staying in Cleveland? He's a goner.
