100 Scariest Movie/TV/Advertising Scenes?

Some interesting choices--Cruella DeVille and the Pink Elephants represent Disney scary-ness, but others are more conventional. Thoughts on the nominees?

My bad...Dumbo isn't one of the nominees, it's just mentioned in the msnbc article. Still, that's one freaky animated short.

Pooh's "Heffalumps and Woozels" is pretty trippy too for a young kid.

Some classy choices. Les Diaboliques. Ghostwatch, plus the War Game (which was kind of the Ghostwatch of its day)

Prodigy video doesn't belong there though.

the hanging man in the Haunted House ride always made me drop tacos in my pants when I was a wee lad

Just looked through the entire list of nominees. 120 nominees for a final list of 100 is a bit lean, isn't it?

Neither the Basement Jaxx nor the Prodigy videos belong on there.

Dog Soldiers It's a fun movie, and one that I loved, but hardly worthy of inclusion on a '100 All-Time Scariest' list.

'Train Pulling Into A Station' is an interesting choice, but how can anyone be expected to vote for it if no-one alive saw it in cinemas?

Anyone else watch the full list breakdown on Channel 4? Either someone fucked up the votes, or this is a nation full of pussies.

Why were The League Of Gentlemen and Carry On Screaming even on there? Why the hell was that Basement Jaxx video so high on the list? And in what world is the Metz Judderman scarier than Ghostwatch?

At least Ring made the top ten.

Yeah, I sat through the whole rundown. Some good stuff lurked within, but the criteria seemed to change from one entry to the next. The top ten was almost entirely the usual horror movie suspects, but the rest of the list veered from "slightly weird stuff" to "soap bad guys".

The only thing that stopped it being a complete waste of time was the interview footage with Carpenter, Craven, Doug Bradley and other horror folk.

Otherwise, a waste of time.

Yeah, i too sat through this in the vein hope that it might be different from their previous efforts.
But sadly no.
Especially when you get the 'Judder Man' from some vodka drink commercial is in there.
Dissapointing.

And I woke from an alcoholic slumber with the show blaring away just in time to see Sadako's fucking eye twitching two feet in front of me.

Almost lost my guts.
