Plasma Screen Issue!

My son thought it would be a good idea, to take magic marker, and draw all over the TV screen. I caught him early on, and tried cleaning it off, but all I seem to do, is push the marker around the screen. I've tried everything from water, to "tv screen solution", I'm afrad to try anything else right now, not wanting to ruin the screen.

One website said 50% alcohol, and 50% water solution, but I'm afraid that may end up doing something to the screen.

That solution seems to be your best bet. Just lay the tv on it's back and try not to use too much.

You also have to keep toddlers armed with sharpies away from plasma screens, so maybe the time to strictly follow the rules has come and gone.

wasn't a sharpie, it was magic marker.. washable. But I can't soak it off the screen, it just smudges around.

but thanks for your wonderful advice

If you lay it flat, you have to shake it up.

What you need to do is get a DVD of a child behaving correctly, and leave it in the DVD player. Then, when he finds it and asks "Is this how you want me to act?", simply say yes.

Problem solved.

Had a similar problem with candle wax on an older big screen. Goo-B-Gone performs miracles.

This I don't know...I don't have plasma, just an LCD

I don't know why putting it on its back for a couple minutes to clean it would be a problem. It's not an Etch-a-sketch. They don't want you to put it on it's face or back because the glass can easily crack if it's jarred or dropped. Just make sure the kid is nowhere in sight while you're working on it.

For MBNick: I really wanted to find a photo of a kid divebombing something...
EDIT: Just saw the Timeout thread. I must learn from RD's example. His timeout will not have been in vain.

I'm sure a light mist will be ok if you want to keep it up.
