STREETHAWK The Complete series

Streethawk, is one of my favorite 13 episode series (Streethawk was a mid-season replacement in...1985), and it is...Racing onto dvd July 13th. I cannot wait for this to happen. Does anyone else enjoy the finest 13 hours of...Rex Smith's acting career. Joe Regalbuto is his sidekick/tech/weapons guy.

Not to be an ass, but weren't they the only 13 hours of Rex Smith's acting career?

This one came kinda late to the party in NZ when I was a kid. By the time it aired, Knight Rider was firmly entrenched as THE go-to hi-tech vehicle show. And if I remember correctly, it had already been canned. I don't actually remember knowing anyone that watched this one.

Nah, he was also Daredevil in one of those Hulk TV movies!

Yeah - i remember watching the trial of the incredible hulk and shouting "it's fucking street hawk as daredevil!!"

as a comic-loving kid that blew me away.

incidentally yes, street hawk was bad-ass, as i recall it was jesse mach and norman tupper as the main characters, Norman drove one of those classic station-waggons (we didn't have them in the UK - so the wood panels seemed as incredibly exotic as a motorbike that could break the sound barrier to me).

only 13 episodes? wow, i thought that show ran for a few years.

Duke, I'll meet you in line at HMV for this fucker - thanks for the tip!

Ridiculous show but when I was younger it was cool as hell.
it had that amazing electro theme tune.

Damn, i bet it's gonna be shit watching them back cos i got burned on that automan box set.

mr adam, The score to Streethawk, is a...Tangerine Dream, of coolness!

The NZ Natural, Rex Smith was also in...The Pirates Of Penzance! He was a much better DD, than Ben Afleck!

I remember really, really, really, really, really wanting a Street Hawk helmet, with the electronics and the zoom and the x-ray vision. Did it have x-ray vision? I don't remember that, but I know that even to this day that's what I want.

Knight Rider and MacGuyver were the kings for me and my bros but we watched a bunch of Street Hawk and Automan too.

Bucho, I do not remember any...X-Ray vision, but in at least one ep, I remember a...Laser beam. I also enjoyed...Automan!

In just...8 days from now, Streethawk, soars onto dvd.
I remember the bike doing a quadruple backflip over a truck or something in the pilot. I thought that was badass.

I also thought it lasted for at least a couple of years.

You know, some things should just be left alone.

Wait, there's an Automan box set?

Bluelouboyle, Short lived...80's era series lived on in re-runs for Years.

Jim Barg, Streethawk is not best left alone.

Streethawk will...Ride again, for the first time, on dvd...July 13th!
Fine, Duke, you win.

That theme is begging for a Daft Punk-like redo, by the way.

Jim Barg, The Streethawk score is a true...Tangerine Dream, and should not be replaced! I wish I could buy the soundtrack to...Streethawk as well!
Damn, I just watched that intro Mr Adam linked to on Youtube. As soon as that bleepy bloopy music kicks in with that sliding synth sound it all came flooding back. I forgot Joe Regalbuto was in it. I always loved the way Jesse's visor would open or close without him seeming to physically manipulate it, like it was responding to his thoughts or something.

Duke Fleed, I might have been wrong about the x-ray vision. Maybe that was something I added in myself in my own imagination when I fantasized about having my own one as a little kid and it all got mixed in together.

I was trying to think of the other supervehicle show we watched back then apart from Knight Rider, Street Hawk and Automan, and it was Airwolf. I think we saw the movie first and I was shocked as a little guy by how dark it was.

Bucho, Donald P. Bellisario, was a bit darker than most of the producers of the...80's. Seemily all his characters had a serious side. I know he was also a Vietnam Vet, thus alot of his leads also served in Vietnam. Magnum, Stringfellow Hawke, and a few others were Veterans of Vietnam, while Jake Cutter of Tales Of A Gold Monkey served during WWII! Did you also watch...Blue Thunder or The Highwayman?
Duke, I watched Blue Thunder but I don't think they ever showed The Highwayman in NZ. I really loved Tales Of The Gold Monkey though. Indiana Jones meets a float plane in the South Pacific was a match made in heaven to 8 Year Old Bucho.

Bucho, I loved that the dog in...Tales Of The Gold Monkey, had a glass eye! Sam J. Jones whom also was...Flash "He'el Save All Of Us" Gordon, starred in The Highwayman. Jimmy Smits was in the pilot, Jacko (not Michael Jackson, Jacko is an Australian Actor) replaced him as it went to series.

It was also after the tech guy had told him that what he was planning on doing was physically impossible, to set the tone that he was such a badass maverick that physics barely slowed him down.
shit yeah tales of the golden monkey - that must have only been one series too, i remember it because of the dog and his float-plane was called "Cutter's Ark" - even as i child I like you mr Fleed enjoyed a good pun.

Belisarius's best vietnam poem was in Quantum leap (the leap home part 2).

don't know the highwayman - must not have made itover to the UK (although it seems we did buy all kinds of other crap like riptide and manimal and crazy like a fox - all of which i fucking loved)
Apparently it was released in the UK in March. Of all the likely shows to get a 40-minute documentary, this would rank pretty low on the list.

The scariest thing about that review? Street Hawk: Resurrection.

Don't know if my nostalgia sensors could take another 80s remake...

I remember the Highwayman! I think I taped the pilot on VHS, and forgot about it.
well, i like the highwayman theme tune and the intro was suitably vague. Surprising to see 80s pimp Tim Russ and even more surprising to see Sam Jones ever working again.

how about northstar? anyone remember that, it was only ever a pilot. when he looked at the sun he got super powers (fucking genius - kids would never copy that right)

I think it was a Grumman Goose called "Cutter's Goose". I just found out yesterday the 20+ episodes are available on dvd in both Australia and the US. I'm way tempted.
I just watched the pilot via YouTube. (Looks like the entire series is there.)

Damn, that was some entertaining cheese. I would have loved the hell out of this if I had seen it when I was 8 or so. (Maybe I did, I don't remember.)

Of course, if you had a region-free player, you could have had this baby three months ago.

Currently watching the George Clooney episode. That's one impressive mullet.

STREETHAWK, is as...Awesome, as I remember it. Too bad, ABC, failed to greenlight a...2nd season. The pilot did start slow, but ended with tons of...Spectacular motorcycle stunts, as...Rex Smith as Jesse Mach faced off against the...EEEEEEEEEEvil Anthony Corrido (Christopher LLoyd!) 25 years after it's debut, it is easy as...ABC, to see why...STREETHAWK is worth watching, a...Noble Hero, Attractive female guest stars, EEEEEEEEEEEvil Villains, and Awe-Inspiring action, with a...Supercycle, that could do everything but order a...Season 2! The Man, The Machine...STREETHAWK!
