Rush Limbaugh: Obama Looks 'Demonic' In Recent Photos

Quote:
Rush Limbaugh said Monday that President Obama has "switched from Messiah to demon."

The radio host said the president looked "demonic" in photos that were taken over the weekend and that appeared on the Drudge Report Monday.

"These pictures, they look demonic," Limbaugh said of the Obama photos. "And I don't say this lightly. There are a couple pictures, and the eyes, I'm not saying anything here, but just look. It is strange that these pictures would be released....It's very, very, very strange. An American president has never had facial expressions like this. At least we've never seen photos of an American president with facial expressions like this."

"I mean, I feel like I'm watching The Omen: 666 and all that," he would say later. "This is weird, weird, weird stuff."

When Limbaugh describes someone as demonic I'd pay attention. He is the manifestation of Slaanesh in the material plane after all. He would know.
He's basically inciting religious nuts to violence with that kind of talk. A frighteningly large portion of republicans already think "Obama may be the anti christ", and how he's playing right into their irrational bronze age fears.

Next up: The days have been getting shorter recently ... has Obama been stealing life giving energy from mighty Helios?!

Okay, that's just adorable. He just wants that attention soooo bad.

hahaha. He sounds like a child."I do...I don't think...you understand."

That's the basis of his argument.

Bump

The latest Rush controversy actually seems to be heralding the end of an era. 24 sponsors (and counting) have pulled ads/ contracts from the Rush Limbaugh show after Rush spent THREE DAYS making vicious personal attacks against Sandra Fluke. At least one radio station has dumped the Rush show over his remarks.

Following this story I was shocked to learn that Limbaugh has only 15 million listeners. I could swear it used to be way way more than that.

So is this Rush's "Imus" moment? Are we seeing The Final Days of El Rusbo?

One would like to hope so. Maybe go out like the King, heart attack on the toilet with a hoagie in one hand and a 9mm in the other, crying about the 'good ol days'.

With all this Kony business it might be a good time to bring up Rush smearing Obama as anti-christian for sending troops to fight the LRA.

Clive Barker knows what to do about Limbaugh:

"I'd love to turn Limbaugh into a Cenobite. He'd envelop his victims in folds of foetid fat while farting Mein Kampf".

And this is why Clive Barker rules.

Cenobite? Here I was thinking Vasty Moses was a thinly veiled caricature.

Realistically though, the Nightbreed would have thrown Rush out for being too grotesque.

soooo....there seems to be a minor controversy that was started regarding Bill Maher's tweet about Jabba...

Quote:

Hate to defend but he apologized, liberals looking bad not accepting. Also hate intimidation by sponsor pullout

Now there are some on the right-side of our political family that are equating what Maher has said in the past about Palin and Bachmann to Jabba's recent verbal attack(s).

Personally, Jabba's so-called apology was anything but that....there wasn't a drop of sincerity in his words. His initial comments about Fluke were deep-down hateful and mean spirited...but he wants to play it off as "he's just an entertainer".

I call bullshit on that.

Jabba has a long history of comments disrespecting women and women's issues (not to mention he's on his 4th Leia...IMO, that says alot about a person)

The comparison I make is this: Has anyone ever happened to be around someone who makes a derogatory racial-tinged joke? I'm not talking about someone who is trying to re-tell a Chappell show skit/joke...I mean the kind of joke where you get the feeling that the reason the person telling the joke actually finds the racist (or sexist) humor "funny because it's true".

I get that vibe from Jabba.

Now, with regards to Bill Maher...while he has said some venomous things about many, many...many politicians and public figures, the verbal 'criticism' is usually based on their words or actions...usually their stupid words and/or actions. Does he cross that line...sure, but that's a comedian's job and last I checked, Jabba isn't doing any standup.

opinions?

Oh, do I just hate that argument. "Well, Bill Maher said this one time so its okay." People keep pointing out that Bill was going after public figures while Rush was going after a private citizen, but really, honestly, in my opinion? Bill's targets deserve it. If anyone has earned every derogatory name in the english languange, it's Palin. Of course we should be the bigger man and rise above such petty things and yadda yadda I know I know...

Plus, let's look at this without politics for a moment, please. We have a guy demanding to see tapes of a girl having sex because "we're" paying for her birth control. Now, even overlooking the fact that logic makes no sense, even overlooking the fact that "we're" NOT paying for her birth control, that's just plain CREEPY. Can't we even agree that that's CREEPY? Well put together, suit wearing guys like Santorum and Romney try to be as polite as they can, saying he "choose the wrong words" when what they SHOULD be saying is the dude's just plain CREEPY. I mean, let's pretend he's NOT a radio hit sensation; could you see a guy like Romney or Santorum rubbing elbows with someone THAT creepy? When did we have to pretend such people were NOT big creeps?

Oh, and on a note that has nothing to do with anything, every time I see video of Rush at his desk, it always looks like he's trapped there. Or maybe I should say stuck. Just a giant impotent toad stuck between two desks, crying for help.

Taking a politician to task for their public stupidity is, oh, just a tad different than calling a private citizen a slut and prostitute because you don't like her politics.

I can see why "intimidation by sponsor pullout" would be a sore point for Maher, but it's fair play.  No one's entitled to sponsorship for their personal pulpit, and when you piss a lot of people off you can lose yours.  Oh well, at least he didn't invoke the First Amendment.

Maher can go suck a dick. It's from listening to people like him that the "left" in the US has let the GOP walk all over them for the last thirty years.

There is no rule whatsoever that you have to accept someone's apology. Especially someone as vile as Limbaugh. Float away to Giedi Prime you fuck.

despite Bill's past experience with sponsors, it's more than a little amusing as Bill doesn't have to worry about advertisers on HBO....I wonder if this will push Jabba to one of the satellite radio networks ala Stern?

I am guessing that you mean "listening to people like 'Jabba' that the left....." ??

I'm just hoping this topic (false equivalency) comes up on Real Time this friday....although I could see Maher not wanting it to.

The thing about Rush is that he constantly misses the point about what people are mad at him about.   He thinks people are pissed at him because he used inappropriate language.     For instance, in his mind if he said that Fluke was "The lady who knew how to have a good time" instead of "Slut and Prostitute" that everything would be okay.   That's what he's apologizing for.   Using "indelicate language" and giving himself an "out".

And yeah, Rush seems like one of those people at work that's a loud breather, loud talker, chews with his mouth open and spits food when he talks, and has this persistent faint body odor no matter how often he showers.   And on top of all that is a creep of the first order.

I don't think Rush misses the point.  He intentionally obfuscates the truth and hides behind the liberal media card and the "it was satire" card.  The thing is, I have listened to his show enough to know that most of the time he does successfully couch his venom in the the cloak of jest, however meanspirited it is.  But the reason I never feel like he is being victimized, as his fans would have us believe, is because he's not actually trying to entertain.  It is patently clear he is trying to stoke the fires of hatred and outrage that he knows his core audience is naturally inclined towards, and he doesn't have any qualms about the damage it does to public discourse, so long as he gets his ratings.  I'd almost be more sympathetic to him if I felt he honestly believed most of the stuff he spews, but the truth is whether he believes it or not doesn't matter.  He feeds into the poisoned minds of millions of angry people, and he is more than happy to do it with smug arrogance.

I have less and less tolerance of Maher as I get older, but I don't see the second part at all.  He's the most combative type of liberal there is, constantly chiding the Left to sack up and fight the Right on their own terms.

The entire "rap" analogy doesn't speak well for Rush and his audience.

The "He's just an entertainer" card has never convinced me in the slightest.  Maybe he doesn't personally believe every thing that he says, but he doesn't present what he says - and he certainly didn't treat his criticisms of Sandra Fluke as - mere entertainment that his listeners shouldn't consider factual.  When he commented on Fluke, he was not cracking a few jokes at her expense, he was directing an angry, obviously political rant at her and his "apology" referenced the importance of other things in American politics.  He clearly presented his take on all of this as a political commentary, and the way he dragged it out was not a fucking joke.

If Rush is just an entertainer, I guess the conservatives that have defended him (the whole "she wants the taxpayers to fund all of her sex" is all over the right-wing blogosphere) didn't get the memo.

Some of Rush's defenders are saying "well that college Grad Student testified before Congress so she's a Public Figure now LOL".

What they seem to miss is the personal nature of the comments. Rush spent three days deriding the moral character of Ms Fluke as a woman. He didn't attack her politics per se, or her specific testimony. He said she must be a whore because she wants public funding for contraception. This was an example of public bullying. Rush wanted to make an example of Ms Fluke so that citizens who have views opposed to his will be afraid to testify before Congress.

Rush has been on a steady downward trajectory over the past decade. (He got fired as an NFL commentator after racial remarks: he seems to think Black Quarterback don't deserve praise for being good football players WTF?) and really went unhinged when Obama got elected. He's lent support to Birther's "Obama is a Mulim"ers, etc. If Ms Fluke were Black I suspect Rush would now be off the air, because he would have had a Creepy Thin Man style metldown onair.

Oh and Bill Maker is just as bad as Limbaugh. But funny.

Then how come he's telling people to accept Baron Harkonnen's apology or they will come off as mean?

Maher had a moment where he thought to himself "holy shit, Rush is the Media just like me! If pressure groups can force sponsors to withdraw support, the same thing might happen to meeeeee"

Limbaugh is up to 43 sponsers out the door.

John Stewart said it best: "He's a terrible person." Love the bit with the priest at the end:

Limbaugh's statements are so wong, and so offensive, on so many levels, it's impossible to parse it down to just one thing for me to get angry about.

Can non-US folks listen to Limbaugh on the internet? I really need to listen to the guy before I bash him too much.

Stelios seems to worked it out.

My guess is that it's a little about keeping the scrutiny on Romney/Santorum (rather than Rush, who everyone already loves/hates and isn't going to budge on), and a lot about how he's essentially in the same business, wants to be able to brush off his own future tempests with a similarly limp apology, and is still smarting from the time he got booted off a network after advertisers fled from his own controversial remarks.

Schwartz has it exactly right, except that I do think these latest remarks are alienating a lot of previously loyal listeners.

I do hope Rush goes to a Sirius type deal..it will effectively neuter him as a viable force in American politics.

Limbaugh is a disgusting dirtbag who hates women.  I think Bill Maher's wrong about this because he's accepting Limbaugh's framing of sponsors pulling out.  This is the free market at work (setting aside the fact that Limbaugh hasn't operated in the "free market" for the past two decades since his value isn't counted in listeners; it's counted in framing issues the way money wants them framed, and the radio conglomerates lost money on him for 10 years before turning a profit).  Anyway, back to the point, pulling advertising is speech every bit as much as Limbaugh's disgusting lies are.

What kills me about what he's doing (and has always done) is that in addition to being utterly women-hating, he's deliberately lying, counting on his listeners to be ignorant of the facts enough to buy his story (and, sadly, in a lot of cases, he's right).  A phrase from Spartacus comes to mind:  "Words fall from his mouth like sh** from @$$."

Have any of you guys heard about Patricia Heaton's similar hateful rant on twitter? Her ignorant hate speech can be viewed at [=http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/03/06/patricia-heaton-apologizes-twitter-rush-limbaugh-sandra-fluke_n_1324602.html][/]

She almost comes off worse than Rush, and is so stupid that I get the feeling she thought Fluke was black before she tweeted (see her racist comments about hot wings at KFC).

Heaton has never hidden her conservative views from typically left-leaning Hollywood, and last year she told PopEater she's lost roles because of her beliefs.

"We know for a fact there are some people who have said they wouldn't want to work with us because of our politics," she said, with her husband, actor David Hunt, adding, "We get lumped in with lunatics."

Rush aren't the only ones....

Quote:

Rush, Peter Gabriel, Fab Thunderbirds want off Limbaugh's show

First the money walks, now it's the music. Rush, Peter Gabriel and the Fabulous Thunderbirds have all demanded that their music immediately stop appearing on Limbaugh's program. (And lest you think it's confined to rockist quarters, the Philadelphia Orchestra, which bought a package of ads through CBS Philly, has also "taken steps to ensure that our ads no longer run on the Rush Limbaugh show,"

Didn't Chrissie Hines (who's "My City was gone" song provides the opening theme of Rush's show) demand that her song not be used, and basically there is no legal recourse for these artists? I can't imagine she approves of the use of her song.

I'd forgotten about that...and thanks to the "Wayback Machine"...

The standoff between CHRISSIE HYNDE and radio right-winger RUSH LIMBAUGH is finally over. Since 1984, Limbaugh had been using the "My City Was Gone," the Pretenders lament about the mall-ification of America, without Hynde's consent. According to Hynde's manager, Limbaugh had not licensed the song for his nationally syndicated radio show, nor had he even asked for permission to use it -- something that didn't seem to bother Hynde all that much until Limbaugh told a pair of reporters in 1997 that "it was icing on the cake that it was [written by] an environmentalist, animal rights wacko and was an anti-conservative song. It is anti-development, anti-capitalist, and here I am going to take a liberal song and make fun of [liberals] at the same time." Last month, Hynde finally got Limbaugh to pull the song but then did an about face on Aug. 18, telling him that he could use the song if he donated all the royalties to the animal right's organization PETA, after PETA campaign manager Dan Mathews told her Limbaugh had a soft-spot for animals. She fired off the following missive to PETA to let them know of the recent developments. "In light of Rush Limbaugh's vocal support of PETA's campaign against the Environmental Protection Agency's foolish plan to test some 3,000 chemicals on animals, I have decided to allow him to keep my song, 'My City Was Gone,' as his signature tune and to donate all proceeds from the deal to further PETA's efforts in that regard" ...

speaking of wayback....this reminded that, years ago, I used to work with this guy as a receiving clerk. He had a radio on his desk and always had it tuned to Rush's radio program. This guy was the prototypical RL listener- white, fat, subtly racist and  thoroughly misogynistic. We would ask him if we could listen to some music or something (anything) else while we were in the 'back room' doing work...nope, it's his radio and he got to determine what was played.

It got to the point that some of my fellow co-workers and I would fuck with him to the point where we thought he was going to have a stroke....while he was at lunch or after he went home for the day we would change the channel on the radio, set all the channel programming to random other channels, hide the power cord and take the batteries out of it. Finally we just hid the radio somewhere just out of sight so it took him 5 minutes to find it every time he came in....he finally was fired after getting into a huge screaming fight with a UPS driver who was delivering a shipment (not the first time either)...the UPS guy was >< this close to just punching the fuck out him.

I haven't thought about this in a long time...good times....good times. :)

Limbaugh has lost 50 advertisers, has dead air in spots:

"At least 50 advertisers have reportedly dropped their ads from Rush Limbaugh's radio show in the wake of his misogynistic attacks on Sandra Fluke.

Here are his March 8 advertisers, in the order they appeared on WABC, the flagship station for Limbaugh's show. Audio clips of the ads have been provided to help make advertisers aware of the placement of their ads on the program. According to our coverage:

  • A total of 86 ads aired during WABC's broadcast of The Rush Limbaugh Show today
  • 77 of those ads were public service announcements donated free of charge by the Ad Council
  • Of the nine paid spots that ran, seven were from companies that have said they have taken steps to ensure their ads no longer air during the program
  • WABC's online feed included about 5:33 of dead air when ads would normally have run."

Poor fella.
