RedLetterMedia fan alert!

...But seriously, who doesn't?

You got me all excited about a Red Letter Predators review.

I thought they were going to do Twilight next?

I was making Freeman's reference clear:

So because I only use Netflix I just saw Predators today. After all the complaining I gotta say I really enjoyed it. I wasn't in love with the new Predator look but overall it was fun and certainly better than the Danny Glover sequel. If they make another one im there.

Chalk up my viewing of [COLOR="Red"]Predators[COLOR="Black"]to a complimentary movie cause I'm such a loyal Directv customer. Anyway, I enjoyed this as well. Its practically a scene for scene homage to Predator 1 but nonetheless it was enjoyable for what it was. Not nearly as bad as many have made it out to be.

I really liked this. Save the Topher Grace "twist" at the end (I knew something was up, just not what), I thought the movie was actually pretty well written and clever for the most part. Brody totally nailed it. Perhaps it helped that I came in with zero expectations, but I thought it was good, if unsubstantial, filmmaking all around.

That would have made the twist exponentially goofier. They were dropping subtle hints right out of the gate - he says he doesn't have anything to cut himself down with, in the next scene he's taking out a pocket knife to look at a poison plant; he uses the Russian guy's kids' pic to try to evoke sympathy, etc. I assumed he was placed with them to keep them on their feet, but that went nowhere except his "one wonky eye" serial killer monologue. Which was maybe the worst possible moment to kill the only person keeping you alive. I'd like to know more about the Predator's recruitment processes, though.

That's about where I'm at. Predator isn't a holy text for me (I can barely remember the second one and didn't bother with the AVP stuff*), and this was about the level of entry I was expecting. I really enjoyed Brody. Did Rodriguez hand over directing chores because actual locations were required?

*Do Predators ever bite anybody? WTF are those mandibles for?

Just imagine the french kiss... Somebody out there would be into it.

glad this got bumped because i happened to see it earlier today.

just...dreadful...it was like they saw the original, got stoned and wrote a "greatest hits" script, and forgot to attach talent...or just the wrong talent, not sure.

for a i-do-everything-but-the-catering-Rodriguez production which cost $40 million, this sure was boring and uneventful. it was just standard nonsense with lots of illogical action and plot holes.

the sun doesn't move for half the running time, then it gets dark all of a sudden? morpheus gets the ability to dissappear, admittedly the coolest thing in the movie, yet it's never fucking used again? and what was the point of his character? oh, to tell them there's a ship. no fucking shit.

i could go on, but i wont. terrible, terrible movie. i can't believe they actually did a play-by-play of the ending of the first movie, same mud, same lines (come on, kill me, do it-do it noooow!!!) with the Pianist as the lead because he has a deep voice. Brody was laughable as a tough guy.

this movie is just full of limp dick, cardboard filmmaking that reminds me of the mid 90s when action movies started getting soft...Predator and Predator 2 took chances, that's why they were successful. there was stuff actually happening in the other movies...this is 90 minutes of people looking confused, including the predators.

so much potential squandered by cheap ass filmmaking and a first draft script, no memorable characters, cherry picking all the best stuff from the first movie and trying to pass it off as contributing to a sequel.

Come on, you didn't like Brody's one-man re-enactment of the ending of Death Proof? It was one or two freeze frames (and a final "the end" title card) from perfection.

well caught this on Showtime or Cinemax or one of those channels.. I recorded it.  Sat down and watched it last night and honestly LOVED it. Some of the sets/scenery were just beautiful to watch.

Brody did an awesome job as action hero man and Topher's twist was totally tolerable. Probably the best Predator movie since the original.
