Oh no, believe me, I'm against the weird influx of woe is me threads and stuff. But it's like when you talk to someone at the bar you have some context for who they are. You don't get that with dudalb. He's a mystery. A mystery that hates everything and is smarter than all of us.

The title made me curious.

Well, I have nothing to add, just pondering how weird a language English is.
I mean, you give it for granted after a while, but, come to think of it, you guys don't know how a word is pronounced until you hear it!
That's weird, but useful for spelling contests
Are there other languages with this peculiarity?
I don't know any other, but there are so many after all
post #55 of 92
I pronounce it "do-a-dalb" when I read it but that's just my brain trying to rejigger it into something that's easier to sound out. I too am genuinely interested in learning the origins of his user name

What makes you think it's an English word? Or even a word at all? Could be an acronym.

And you "take for granted" not "give for granted".

According to their profile, dudalb is 43 years old.

I also always read the name as gibberish, but Doodle-B is sticking with me.
Dudalb rhymes with muad'dib in my head.

Well, it was irrelevant to my ranting.
Everyone was wondering what the correct pronunciation could be, and that basically happens to people "who think in English".
In most other languages, the written word contains all you need to know for a proper pronunciation (with the possible exception of stresses)

Thanx, noted. Hopefully I'll remember next time

I never even thought about how to pronounce it, but now I can't not think Doodle-B when I see it . I wonder if he is going to post in this thread?

How about "Do Da Pounds?!"

Like it's a bet of some sort.

But what sort?!

Must be a Dune-nerd thing cause that's always been my brain-fart take on it as well.

Doodle Bee. Sounds like a cartoon that teaches kids to draw.
Weird, I read his name as Dudelb every time. I assumed it was some weird shortening of Dude Lebowski that made sense in his head when he probably met with the frustration of having every possible Dude-esque name already claimed on CHUD.

Yeah, but this is the wild frontier of the internet, where names are notororiously misspelled, abbreviated, amended with numbers, and where multiple indecipherable words and letters are mashed up.

Let's just make it official: the Doodle Bees have it.

He probably isn't. I know I wouldn't. And not sure what qualifies him as a fucker, regardless of his posting proclivities.
Ever fucked before? Then you're a fucker. If anything I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt.

Dial up dub, now here's the rub...

The "not responding to the thread directed directly at you" schtick has been done before.

Yawn.

Of course, the "respond incessantly to the thread directed at you" tactic has also been used, so I'm not sure what I want anymore.
In regards to what he does for a living: Doodle Bees mentioned that he is(was?) a paramedic, or EMT. Forget which thread it was, though.
Shit, was the Brad Millette thread against the rules? I genuinely wanted to know. Someone PM me?

Is there honor in not taking the bait? I think dud should indulge us all.
lmfao he called Devin and Nick Marvel fanbois
post #75 of 92
It's The Dude Abides. He's now into the whole brevity thing.

The only way to win is not playing, i suppose.
Thread will get closed at one point, Dudalb will stay clear and life will go on, i guess.
Depending on how one surfs the boards it possible one could never see it. I'm not sure how deliberate dudalb is in avoiding this thread.

A bad misspelling of dublab?
REAL TALK: He doesn't know this thread even exists. I think the dude sticks to one section of the forum.
Dude al b.

And now thanks to Devin, Dude Al B Sure.
Spoiler in inviso-text: Dudley Albrecht.
Just admit it Devin. You're trying to distract people from dudalb's uncovering of your's and Nick's Marvel fanboyism powered anti DC campaign.

Diva and Joe Brady nailed me.
And yes, I am the Dudalb at JREF.
If you want other basics I live in Sacramento, have lived in LA and Arizona, and grew up in the SF Bay Area.
I have been married since 1992,with no kids.
I am not sure what Devin wants in the way of information. I am aware that he might be setting me up..you can't hand around CHUD and not see that fights are part of his Shtick.

I just want to know who you are. I feel like you're the biggest mystery poster, in terms of how long you've been on these boards.

Yeah... That was pretty anticlimactic.
