Questions for Rutger Hauer!

Thread Starter
That's right, fiends, we're lining up a discussion with the fuckin' Hitcher himself. Hauer's currently on location in Australia gearing up to play Mr. Barlow in the "Salem's Lot" remake but the Corner has gotten in contact with his rep and we're lining up an interview.

Now, we're looking for a few good questions from the readers. We may or may not use all of them since we've got our own batch of things to ask the man, but suggestions are always welcome.

Post 'em here!

How sweet did the teenaged Jennifer Jason Leigh taste? And did your reunion years later on The Hitcher feel awkward as a result?

If they green-lit a Blind Fury 2, would you still jump at it?

how about the ole "Favorite underrated movie he worked on"?

I know I know

I GOT NOTHING!

How does he feel about the epic discusssions of the meaning behind Blade Runner? What is his take on the film?

Is he gonna shave his head to play Barlow?

Why isn't he in any good flicks anymore? come back Rutger, my fellow dutch bastard!

What was it like working with the great Albert Pyun on the set of the sci-fi classic "Omega Doom"?

One of my favorite actors.....

Too many questions......

What the hell were you thinking to be on Lexx?

No seriously.

What director are you waiting desperately to call you?

Any desire to direct yourself?

And yes, if he has ANY influence directly, Blood of Heroes, Blind Fury, Split Second (so sue me), and many MANY others of his need to make their way to a collectors boxed set.

"Mr. Hauer, could you please explain the plot of SPLIT SECOND? That movie made no friggin' sense!"

Yeah, but hey, Kim Cattrall in the shower.

To be honest, I liked that flick. It might suck if I saw it now, but I don't wanna ruin that memory. Of Kim.

Does he miss the Dutch days of more...er... legitimate cinema ? Or does the thrill of just working still make, say Bone Daddy or Turbulence 3 worth it ? Are you learning all the time ? Kind of a 3-in-1 question there

Do you actually like Guiness ?

Is he really as hard to work with as I've been led to beleive?

Split Second

(Spoilers)

.....is about a satanic prophecy becoming fulfilled by the mutation of a rat into a humanoid monster. What more do you need?

What are his feelings towards the horror genre... Does he think it's lowbrow/pay the bills type stuff or does he have affection for it? (given that it seems he's getting typecast as a vamp)

That's what SPLIT SECOND is about? And yet they found a way to make something that simplistic into something that incomprehensible!

Rutger, do you have any good Gary Busey stories from the set of "Surviving the Game?"

How about, "Would you consider doing a sequel to Ladyhawk?"
Another question.....

Are there any characters from books, comics or any other media you would love to play on screen?

In the same vein, I'd like to know what kind of stuff he enjoys reading.
Also, I think I've read before that he prefers working on STV movies to big-budget productions, and that that was a very deliberate career choice. I'd like to know what the appeal is, in his words.

Oh yeah, I also heard that the guys who made Blade Runner had no idea that it would be the success it's become; in fact, a lot of props and all the costumes were destroyed for that reason. What did he think of the film when he was working on it? He certainly seems to have an interest in sci-fi.
