The show that never ends.

| Nick. I'd like to show a chain reaction of bannings that have occurred, and hopefully show why, if it continues, the boards will be devastated of any life, as people upset by long time forum friends being deep-sixed cease participating. This particular chain reaction started with Doug (BobClark) who was upset that his work computer had been infected by visiting CHUD, and was complaining about it. His IT guys had to clean his computer and then set draconian blocks on surfing habits for everyone at his workplace. Many people in the thread were angry about their computers being infected by CHUD in that thread. Devin declared that any further discussion would be considered "trolling" and then banned BobClark for not immediately complying, when Bob bitterly gave one last parting shot "You're doing a great job, buttertits". Several people posted after that, ignoring Devin's edict, but were not banned. Hans Gruber, upset at Doug (BobClark)'s banning, called Devin a "retard". Hans Gruber was also banned. Then Paul McCartney, upset about both Doug and Hans Gruber being banned, was temp-banned for a month for complaining about it, and when he returned he was upset at Spike for tattling on Hans Gruber for returned under another name, and expressed the hope that Spike HAD BEEN "beaten up a lot as a kid", and was banned for "wishing a beating on another chewer", which he had NOT done. Devin recently talked about the communities that formed at Comic con and how he found himself moved by them, instead of expressing his usual contempt. Perhaps he could find a way to have compassion for Chewers who form friendships and connections on the forums and are upset in a human way when their forum friends are unfairly banned by Devin? If Devin continues to ban for people being upset because he bans, he's not really cut out to be a moderator. |
