And now he claims it's religious discrimination.

You're a goddamn bus driver. Did they pay? Then you drive them to where they want to go.

shit happens like this all the time. I was a programmer at a metal shop, and we were doing routed aluminum replacement faces for some businesses, and the CAM Operator refused to operate the machine due to the faces saying "Planned Parenthood". He also did the same for a strip club.

He didn't get fired tho... slipperly slope stuff like that can be.

It could be a really nice sign that said "Don't Go To Planned Parenthood" and they could have been taking the bus there to protest. You never KNOW.

religion... etc..

I guess it was just easier not to go down that road, and just train someone else to operate the CAM for said jobs.

He's also in a Union too... which adds another level of complexity.

Agreed. It's not religious discrimination. If anything, you religiously discriminated against this woman by not taking her where she paid you to go, you prick.

I really think that people should not take a job if they feel morally uncomfortable with any aspect of it. If you don't want to drive people to a certain place, don't be a bus driver. If you don't want to provide certain treatments, don't be a doctor. If you don't want to sell a certain product, don't work in retail (or at least, not in a shop that sells it). I used to work in a shop that included a pharmacy counter. We were a small branch so there was only ever one pharmacist on duty at a time, and only a pharmacist can dispense medication. He was a strict muslim and wouldn't give out the morning after pill. So when terrified teenage girls came into our shop he would explain to them, out on the shop floor, that he had a moral problem with their choice and couldn't give them what they'd come for. Then they could walk to the other end of town to the bigger branch - unless they came after 6, when that branch was shut. Used to make me fucking rage.

I'm to the point where I think religion is a virus. Just a strange compound that makes people stupid.
