I dunno if Diesel's gay, but THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS is hilariously homoerotic. I'm amazed it's not brought up more. Kinda like how homophobic frat boys dress up as TOP GUN characters.

I dunno if I haven't seen enough interviews with the guy, but I never got a big "I like penis" vibe from Diesel. He DOES have a kid from a supermodel he was spied dating for a while (even before the news that she was preggers), but this day and age that hardly means anything. Hell, I'm sure there's people who would even accuse him of having the kid the way Ricky Martin had his twins.

Anyways, back to the topic: so, Hardy's basically saying he snuggled and made out with guys a lot when he was younger?

I can understand this comment raising eyebrows. It's sort of a "badboy" thing to say something along these lines, like it might have been for the glam rockers to claim experimentation. All the same, Hardy is pretty clear in stating he isn't interested in men sexually. Maybe some people will never be Hardy fans because of this, the way some adults never fully embraced Rod Stewert when I was a kid because of tablloid accusations of homosexual flings back in the early 80s (ditto for Bowie and Jagger...for those guys that's all my friends would ever comment on, especially after the "Dancing in the Streets" video). I have to believe admission to experimentation isn't the career killer it might have been ten years ago. I'm even a but surprised it's getting so much play on this thread.

I don't see the big deal. His having sex with a man would probably just widen his appeal to heterosexual women. No one's ever claimed that Ewan is gay and he's ALL THE TIME kissing on men (and not just in movies). That kind of sexual fluidity can be very attractive.

Did people wig out when Angelia Jolie (*shudder*) said something about sleeping with women?

In regards to Vin Diesel, Kevin Smith (I know...) pretty much outed him in his "Silent Bob Speaks" book that came out a few years ago. Without specifically naming him, he described Diesel to a T. From what he was wrote, Diesel's homosexuality was pretty widely known in the industry.

I think they were too busy reeling from the "slept with her brother" rumors.

There's definitely a bunch of conflict going on in that dude, but after Chronicles I just thought his dark career-killing secret was that he's a closeted nerd/dweeb. The terror of being found out must be horrifying (he was practically writhing with discomfort when doing the promo rounds for that movie when interviewers would ask him about his D&D playing past). In contrast, being gay must be a lighter load. Far more socially acceptable than being "uncool". The sex wouldn't dry up for a start.
