Fist Of The North Star is the title of a...Mad Maxesque anime series. Kenshiro is the...Fist Of The North Star. His friend Shin is...Fist Of The South Star. Shin gains something Ken lacks...Ambition. Shin kidnaps, Ken's gal pal Yuria, forcing Ken to try to rescue his gal, while fighting...roving gangs, his elder brother Ken-O, (who believes himself a...World Conquering type), and many other vestiges of...EEEEEEEEvil! The series...Finally was released in the US. Discotek media, has licensed all...152 episodes, but most stores will not carry them, as likely, most US citizens haven't seen it before. All US anime fans have likely seen is...Fist Of The North Star the film, which is the first...5 episodes! There is also a videogame by...Koei/Tecmo. While not announced for...US release, the trailer to the game was shown at both...E3 and San Diego Comic Con. I myself saw the trailers courtesy of...gametrailers.com! Discuss the series, discuss the hope the game will arrive in the US!

Or you might remember the LAST BATTLE which was one of the earlier Fist of the North Star Video games. Classic.

I have also written on my neauxclicks blog about HOTEI providing the kickass theme song to the anime STILL ALIVE.

neaux, I never had a video game system with a...Fist Of The North Star Game, that was playable.

LAST BATTLE was for the Sega Genesis. Sega didn't have the rights to the Fist of the North Star license so they just changed the names and released it anyway. It was sluggish moviing but doing the multipunch and multikick was beyond classic.

and this thread should totally be in the video game section.

neaux, You would be right if this thread also didn't include the...Fist Of The North Star...Television Series! I do not know of many people who like...Fist Of The North Star, like I do. I have only seen a few episodes (the film), but now that the...Entire series, is arriving in the next couple of years, in...3 more box sets, it is just too cool to ignore, even though, Best Buy and other major stores with...Tons of shelf space wouldn't even order it.

neaux, Read the...Entire, title of this thread, for clarification, about this covering...the series, and game!

This story is about hyper-masculine men who are trapped by traditional gender norms, unable to express themselves except through acts of violence and control of women.

Discuss away, Fleed.

and for that reason this should still be moved into the comics and anime section.

that and it produced one of the worst American live-action movies ever made.

They didn't have the license in the U.S., but it was a full fledged Fist of the North Star game in Japan, complete with exploding heads whenever you punched or kicked an enemy, and the trademark ridiculous amount of gore, especially for the boss fights.

We got hosed.

Fist Of The North Star is simply...Awesome! I have already watched...1/3rd of the first box set, and the action, is so...Gloriously Over The Top, I recommend this series, to anyone that likes...martial arts films, particularly those of...Bruce Lee, anime, Mad Max, and tons of gore.

At...Book-Off, in NYC, I just picked up the song collection for...Fist Of The North Star, from the classic anime series. It is too bad, that there isn't a...score collection as well!

Flansered, Thanks for the update on the NES FOTNS game. I really hope that...Koei/Tecmo, announces the release date of Fist Of The North Star Ken's Rage, soon. Do you have any plans for buying the classic series...Fist Of The North Star? Set 1 of 4 is now available on dvd, and it is...Awe-Inspiring!

The demo is a lot of fun. Might be the best game devoted to the fine art of punching people since Godhand.

Spike Marshall, I cannot wait for...Fist Of The North Star to arrive for my 360. As a fan of anime since the...70's, it is amazing that that games with characters from 2 of my favorite anime series, Science Ninja Team Gatchaman, and Fist Of The North Star: Kens Rage!, have been released in the US.
