So here is the thing. This movie literally offers nothing new in revenge vigilante genre. But it certainly feels like it does and thats mostly due to the performance of Peter Marshall and the nature of the violence.
Peter Marshall is amazing at switching between maniac and caring father cutting himself to feel again. The violence was crazy in the sense that it was all very real. When Christian fights there is no kungfu, just a desperate man trying to put the other man down. When someone gets hit you FEEL it and so do the characters on screen. They never shy away from showing Christians anger and violence. True they cut away at the truly grisly stuff which actually makes it feel more violent. Again I know theres nothing new here but seriously this movie sounds like the vigilante films of the old days.
