8 hour Starz mini-series.

Decent ratings for Starz after the first two hours, according to an article i just read.

Forgot about the show and ran across it On Demand.

Watched the first episode, pretty good. Very well done. You can tell Ridley Scott has a hand in this.

I disagree, having only seen the first hour as part of an on-demand promo package I thought it was pretty lame. The acting's weak (that guy playing the saintly prior...I just want to flush his head in the toilet) and the characters are obviously being blocked out as PURE GOOD and PURE EVIL right from the start. Rufus Sewell is fairly awesome, Sutherland and Kim Pine are fun to watch, and Ian McShane will always rule the universe, but their entertainment comes purely from the performances--as scripted they're utterly one-dimensional goodies and baddies.

My main thought the whole time was "Boy, I hope A Game of Thrones is a LOT better than this."

This was pretty great past the first hour. It's a lot denser and more complex than you'd think, Prankster.
