For myself, I will be going:

Tonight, to Show and Tell

Friday, to the Talent Show and Miami Connection

All-day Saturday

All-day Sunday

The Village movie interruption and the member's only event on Monday

Let's do this!

Would normally be up for it, but it's my last week before my vacation to Paris, so I've got tons of trip-related shit to do.  Next time!

I'll be there tonight and Weds for sure. Not sure about other nights. Though I might pop in tomorrow and Friday too.

Egh. Can't do Saturday and Sunday due to prior obligations, but I'll shoot for what I can this week. Keep you dudes posted.

I don't think I'll be attending Everything Is tonight. But will be there on Weds for 100 Most Outrageous Action Scenes.

Man, the Joel Hodgson show last night was sublime.

Shame that TV Wheel didn't get picked up.

It would have been great if it could have lasted a season, but I think it was just too weird to live. This was HBO in the 90s, so they were certainly taking a lot of chances on bizarre programming, like MR. SHOW and TENACIOUS D. I can see why they ultimately decided it wouldn't work for them. I presume HBO worried that once the wow-factor of the gimmick wore off for audiences, the limitations the gimmick placed on the content would start to become an issue.  As Joel talked about last night, I do think its proper home is in some kind of live venue, not TV.

But man, I was impressed. Joel is a mad genius.

That ventriloquism catalog was amazing.

Alright, so who's going to the talent show tonight? Nick Offerman! Plus, not only am I going to Miami Connection, but I'll be reviewing it for one of my sites, and interviewing the director. Shit's gonna be cray. Who's cool enough to show up?

Guys, the New Beverly just slated some fuckmazing stuff. The Wages of Fear. A Separation / This is Not a Film. A PTA retrospective. There's no way at least SOME of us can't make SOME of these together.

URGENT URGENT URGENT

I'm set for a screening of Hotel Transylvania tomorrow, and I've got a +1. It's at 4:00 at the AMC Century City. PM me if you're interested. First come, first serve (unless I don't like you, in which case I'll lie and say that someone else already claimed it).

Man, I wish I still had the stamina to attend midnight shows.

Not sure how many people saw when I posted about this before on the main page, but we're doing a Kickstarter at The Cinefamily to raise funds desperately needed to restore and update the Silent Movie Theater (where we live, and which was built in 1942). http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/cinefamily/cinefamily-digital-projection-and-theater-restorat

We're getting very close. But of course, if we fail to hit our goal in the next five days, we don't get anything. So I'm here begging for scraps! Even the smallest donation helps.

As the video on the Kickstarter page demonstrates, The Cinefamily are doing things no one else is doing in LA. But our theater is old as fuck and even though we're only five years old, we're quickly falling behind the times technologically. And anyone who attended the Silent Movie Theater knows the joint needs new seats BADLY.

I've given what I can, which isn't much, but I might up my donation if it gets down to the wire and they're still short. No way am I going to continue to subject my ass to those seats any longer than I have to.

Bummed I just found out they're doing a Blade Runner screening at the Million Dollar Theatre downtown on Saturday. Bummed because it's sold out already. This theatre is IN the movie.

Also on Sunday they're playing Back to the Future at the Cinerama Dome, But when I looked a week ago there was no good seats left.

So striking out left and right.
