It should also be noted that this is a remake of the rather excellent RACE WITH THE DEVIL, starring Warren Oates and Peter Fonda. The original film forgoes any sort of real supernatural mumbo jumbo and just throws our protagonists into the fire, leading to a pretty awesome car chase that takes up most of the second half. Because the Satanists could be anybody, there's a real palpable terror that even when they're in a safe environment, they're not safe at all. I doubt this remake has anything resembling that.
