Alex you can never have enough hot warrior chicks with Blue tattoo’s.

Great poster though.

That was kind of a silly thing to say, wasn't it? Bring on the blue tattoos!

Kind of toned down from the Bisley I remember. Very very good.

Bisley's one of my favorite comic artists, especially when he paints. Good stuff.

Yeah it's a bit more "realistic" than his usual stuff, for lack of a better word.
I didn't mean to say that I don't like exaggerated Bisley. His Slaine was possibly my second favorite 2000AD character after Dredd.

I will have a dozen of those thank you.

Is Spaced's Tim Bisley named after Simon?
Probably, they used Bisley art for most(if not all) of Tim's drawings.

*edit- Looking for a verification, he most certainly was the name inspiration, but now I'm not certain if the Biz did the drawings in the show. Sure looks like his stuff though.

Seriously. Much more realistic than I'd expect.

The world need more painted movie posters.
Wow, haven't read comics in a long time, pretty sure the last thing I saw from Bisley was the conceptual art he did for the cancelled Four Horsemen video game like 8 years ago.

LOL at Biz being unable to resist giving warrior woman massive cans even in classy/"toned down" movie poster mode. Some things never change.
Yes this is restrained Bisley.
No torpedo nipples poking out of the woman's top, no gigantic arm veins and no cut off tank tops. He couldn't resist giving the warrior woman heaving fake boobs, though.

Alex...

It's not a blue "tattoo", it's woad.

Anyway,

I like the fact that this is a not a floating heads poster, but I don't like much about it beyond that. If this was all I had to go on, I'd think CENTURIAN was silly fantasy. CENTURIAN appeals to me because of my classics geek status. This poster screams that the film it's selling makes a travesty of history. Also, Kurylenko looks nothing like that, so why does she appear that way on the poster? This poster gets the tone of the movie totally wrong, and frankly is a rather unpleasant piece of art. The normal CENTURIAN poster is a tad boring, but it's better than this.

PS My poster idea would be to have Fassbender standing in a field of corpses or something, an image actually used in the film

One of the many post-Bisley clones that infested 2000ad.

Wikipedia says:
2000 AD artists Jim Murray and Jason Brashill provided the artwork for Tim's comic "The Bear," as well as other incidental artwork for the show.

I have this idea that Jason Brashill went by the name Jason Bliss and signed his work "Bliss" in the way Bisley signs his "Biz".

The one clone worth a damn was Chris Halls, who grew up to be Chris Cunningham. I think he changed his name in shame after designing the Newborn in Alien 4, then made amends by giving the world Aphex Twin's "Come to Daddy" clip.

pk nails my sentiments on this poster. The only thing I could add is that the woman's tattoos in DOOMSDAY weren't blue.

Great poster. I noticed they included a frame from the film at the bottom of the poster.

If all true, this quote kinda blows my mind.

I love this especially because I've always thought Neil Marshall would be an ideal match for any 2000ad projects that ever get up and running - he would be PERFECT for directing Dredd. He's got the over-the-top violence, black humour, and machismo thing down - if it's too late to give him Dredd, let him have a go at Slaine or Strontium Dog!!!

Oh wow, thanks. The Cunningham stuff is pretty interesting.

I saw this earlier today while watching the trailer at apple and immediately wanted it on my wall. Is the movie available through Amazon?

So, I've always argued that Simon Pegg's character in Spaced is named after Simon Bisley and decided to do an internet search for proof. This thread was the second google listing. I love CHUD.
