Shallow Grave was brought up in another thread, and I remember one shot when the roommate that went crazy (not Alex) was up in the attic, either with the money or was watching the money. Anyway, in order to keep an eye on his roommates, he drilled holes into the floor so he could look down, and one of the shots is just him sitting in a corner with these beams of light coming up through the holes he drilled. It felt like he was some sort of monster.

There is a shot in live free or die hard where bruce willis is driving away from a jet and its shooting at him. The jet shoots out the bridge and bruce willis makes the thing explode. After that I was like god damn bruce willis you are like jackie chan.

For recent film, The Good the Bad the Weird has some of the most amazing shots.... Woo-sung Jung's rooftop shootout and the swinging-over-the-street shootout. My imagination has been so starved by Hollywood action films that I could only assume those shots had been done with digital doubles. I watched the making of almost as much as I watched the movie....

Another favorite is the lady dragging the trunk in Welles' The Trial.

Yesterday our professor told us Boogie Nights ripped off a buncha shots from Soy Cuba. She didn't have clips, so I tracked some down.
