His NEVER WAKE UP: THE MEANING AND SECRET OF INCEPTION article is now the most popular in the history of the site, finally besting his hysterical Breaking Dawn article.
Yay! That article was one of the most insightful that I have read on any film site. I'm so glad great writing (in this case) translated into numerous hits. Congratulations on the success as well as a brilliant article.

Good to hear, it's a piece deserving of that honor. The Twilight article was most probably boosted by teens and housewives bookmarking the site in a rage after Nick's "Fuck This Face!" series.

A very enjoyable article. Huzzah!

Great writer who deserves it.

It's one of the first links to appear if you google "Breaking Dawn", which amuses me to no end.

That's fantastic.

Off topic: Just skimmed a few of the comments for the Breaking Dawn article... it drives me nuts how many people refer to CHUD as a blog, and this sure as hell isn't the first time.

It really is!

Totally deserved and great news for Devin and the whole site, hope the hits the article gets translates to people sticking with CHUD.

It's a great article. I like Devin's writing/reviews usually, but this one was particularly insightful. I've sent it to virtually everyone I know who's seen the film.
This is awesome news, and I have to agree with Kriegaffe. I sent it around to all my friends, and it helped to further what was already an interesting discussion of a fantastic film. I don't know that I necessarily agree Devin's idea that it's all a dream, but I definitely see how it could be possible, and it provides a reading of the film that never even occurred to me while I was watching it. Definitely a great piece, and it deserves all the recognition it can get, so kudos to Devin.

Congratulations to Devin. I eagerly await for Inception to be released here so I can read what this all about. Can you tell that I'm bitter?

I empathize. We had to wait an extra two weeks for it to open here in Denmark, and I thought that was agonizing. I don't envy you the wait at all, as now I have to wait until October to see Scott Pilgrim.

Anyway, that's the end of my derail. Congrats again to Devin, and I hope you enjoy the article when you finally get to read it, Stelios.

Congrats indeed. And even more: Thanks!

This is the article I forwarded everyone that wanted to listen to my ramblings about Inception. Articles like this one are the reason why I keep visiting this site on a daily basis. Keep up the thought povoking work.

Congrats, Dev. I imagine a lot of hits came from EW readers. I know I was psyched to see Devin referenced on such a mainstream site.
Top job, Devin.
Kudos, Devin. Reading your Inception piece gave me an excuse to see the film again almost immediately. I sent the link to friends that saw the film, rather than proclaiming your analysis as my own, as seems to be the trend...

Incidentally, I just read the Breaking Dawn article for the first time, having successfully avoided all Twilight related material thus far. Christ on the cross, Breaking Dawn sounded like some kind of fever dream/Bobby in the shower/drink Louie's neighbor's bong water type writing.

Guy is, without question, one of the most analytical, actively-engaged writers on film working today.
Congrats Devin. It is a really good article.
Another congrats, and echoed kudos on your writing. Agree or disagree, you have a really great voice and POV for people who love film.

When I saw the INCEPTION article linked on EW's page, I was thrilled. I want CHUD to flourish and grow, and the exposure was a great step in that direction.

High five.

Keep reaching for the stars, sweet Devin! They are so close now!
Fan-bloody-tastic news. Congrats, Devin.
Talk about opposite ends of the spectrum -- an eviscerating book critique and a deep, insightful analysis of a film. Only a really good writer could do both so well... Despite the fact that I occasionally disagree with Devin, at this point he's my go-to critic.
Great job.
Well-deserved.
Yeah, I thought that was pretty cool even though he's FUCKING WRONG!!!! No, kidding, it's nice to see the site get the attention.
Devin,

If I knew the NEW RULES allowed for the deployment of a greenbox, I'd use one here for you! Congratulations to you and CHUD!
That's fantastic news for Devin and CHUD. Blastfax kudos to you!

EDIT: This now makes me curious as to which other CHUD articles were most popular.
Nice one Devin. It was a great read.

Alex, can you tell us how many unique hits there were? I'm interested to know exactly how many people have read it.
I haven't read it since I haven't seen Inception yet (I generally don't watch theatrical movies until they go to the local second run theater since I hate the crowds). But there's a reason CHUD is my home page, and seeing a recent article like this do well is nice. This is easily my favorite movie website, and I get more here from any other website or critic, including Roger Ebert, who seems to circle the subject matter of his reviews about as much as he digs into them.
Thanks for reading, guys. I appreciate it.
It must be immeasurably nice as a writer to know that something you wrote is having a definite impact on the discussion of a film like this way, way outside of this small community here.
yet to read it, but Inception opened today her and im off to see it and then read the article right away, guys.
Congratulations, Devin!
Well done, Devin.
Well done, Devin. I've had many moments when I've wanted to hurl heavy objects at your head, but your film criticism is beyond compare. I'm glad you're getting recognition for your Inception piece and hope the honors don't stop there.
Good job and well-deserved to one of the best film critics out there.
I didn't even know about this article until about 10 minutes ago (just got my computer back up after a few weeks). That was a damn good read, & it's exactly why this site is my homepage. I'm forwarding it to my friends & co-workers right now.
Congrats, Devin! It was an excellent article.
it was an excellent article. I spent countless hours at work forwarding that link to my friends. Congrats Devin.. even though I am a little saddened that your breaking dawn breakdown has ben dethrowned...
Congrats Devin, it was a well thought out and well argued piece.

Keep up the good work.
Congrats, Devin, for getting some well-deserved success and a bigger readership.
After watching the movie a second time, one of the first things I did was forward the article to some friends.
Kind of like Inception itself, something smart and wonderful gets what it deserves!
Congrats Devin on a great article getting the attention it deserves.
