War Of The Worlds Tv Series: 2nd Season Being Released!

This tv series was one of the Sci-fi shows I remember watching back in the late 80's with my Dad, along with Star Trek: The Next Generation.

The first season was released back in 2005 to coincide with the release of Spielberg's film, and finally the second season is going to be released. Adrian Paul was one of the main characters.

Loved the first season of this show. The portrayal of Lt. Col. Paul Ironhorse is some of Richard Chavez's finest work.

Even as a pre-teen I found the second season disgraceful. I guess they had their budget slashed or something. Felt like the whole season took place in a sewer.

Yeah, I still don't understand why they killed off Lt. Col. Ironhorse. He was the most popular character of the first season. I remember quite a few of the tv spots really showcased him.

They also didn't follow up on a lot of the arcs that were set up in the first season. I'm still curious to see it again, as I don't really remember much of the second season. Save for the premiere which killed off 2 of the characters, and set up the show as now being in a post apocalyptic world.

Is that when they switched the focus from the classic tripod aliens to some ridiculous second wave? Because, yeah, even as a kid I knew that was ballz.

That's what happened alright. Took me a while to get over it. It was a real dark time for syndicated genre television. But then Lorenzo Lamas rode into our hearts on Renegade and I forgot all about the War of the Worlds debacle.

I never understood the new Aliens in Season 2. Also they added Adrian Paul in the cast.

I only watched the premiere..which did at least feature one (1) Martian Tripod (from the 50's film) for about 5 minutes.

It also had a Scientist who took Micro-Naps (edgy!) and the aliens were all in Toxic Waste containers...and I guess decided to just come out one day and posses models. At least I seem to remember one model type chick.

I wish they'd make a film or TB series based on Marvel Comic's take on a second Martian invasion..Killraven!

In the premiere, a group of terrorists raid a U.S. Army facility, and they get in a fire fight with the soldiers there, and cans of toxic waste get shot, and the toxic waste drips onto the containers and that's what wakes up the aliens, and they need the radiation to keep them alive, but when they possess people, the radiation starts eating away at them, and that's how people are able to tell that they're really aliens.

There were even quite a few episodes in the first season where the aliens won.

Of course, from what I remember, and have read up on, all of that gets thrown out with the new aliens that come in the second season, and the possession theme gets thrown out in favor of cloning.
