Running Scared is a masterpiece, there's no need to excuse the film as "wacko but flawed" -- it's fantastically wacko in all the right ways.

There are a lot better actors to wish better careers on. Walker is a void and while Running Scared was great, he was the weakest part.

Ha. Apologies then. I like Evans more too. My comparison was meant to be between their careers, not them as humans. I mentioned Evans because I don't think he is an undeniable talent (someone who filmmakers were falling over each other to work with), he's gotten where he is largely through a smart approach to his film selection. He very easily could've slipped through the cracks.

Walker is a dud, true. So is Mark Wahlberg. But Wahlberg has also been smart enough to get himself in the right kind of films playing the right kind of characters to make himself look good. What I liked about Walker was that for a brief moment (looking back it was basically just a year or two period) I thought he was shaping up to be that kind of smart shopper. I'm just sad that it seems I was wrong. I liked him dammit!
