I really want to see this movie.

Hopefully this'll end up being the monster movie I was expecting Cloverfield to be.

I really, really hope this gets a wide release. Is that even being considered at this point?

I have asked that very question of the people handling it and will get back to you guys about it asap. It is getting a VOD release a whole month earlier (September 24th) though so I'm not sure how wide they'll push this one.

Ok, thanks. Good to know. I'll hope for the best. We all need more monster movies in our lives.

That shot of the jet in the lake is magnificent in its creepiness. This had absolutely better come to a theater nearby me, though I'm very happy to hear it'll be doing the VOD thing before its release.

Excited. Like that the flora (alien shrooms!) appears to be effected as well.

Bad news, folks. Very limited release.

Looks like VOD's the way to go. It is hitting pretty much every VOD platform, though (Xbox, PS3, Cable, Amazon, etc.)

That sucks. This looks like it would be fun to see on the big screen. I will now annoy coworkers by playing Roar!

Wow, just...wow. That's puzzling.

Limit the release, so you can REMAKE it with Hollyowood $$$ and pretend the original never happened. You know it to be true.

"Oh that movie? You liked it? Cool.... it was... uh... just proof of concept!"

Caught this on VOD last night. The monsters themselves were very well implemented, loved the design. Didn't really care for either of the leads. She was ineffectual, he had too much of a lecherous vibe for me to like him. Loved the corrupt Mexican official.

The gas station schene at the end was beautiful. Really loved the bioluminescence reveal. I felt sympathetic to the creatures. They weren't evil beings, just a creature with an established life cycle attempting to survive. I felt that the 'illegal immigration' theme, while in no way subtle, was well executed. Handled similarly to District 9. In a lot of ways, this movie feels like it is a close relative to District 9, and could infact be occuring on the same "Earth". A beaustiful example of well done CGI allowing creative film makers with no budget to tell an interesting story.

I wish the film was longer.

Edited for grammar.

I wondered about the male lead, as he had a role on BONES as a creepy new age stalker, and he didn't seem leading man material. Won't keep my from seeing this, but I hope he's not as icky as you imply.

This movie was a thematic mess. It felt like DISTRICT 9 in the sense that the monsters/aliens were a metaphor, but unlike D9 the metaphor was muddled. Were they supposed to represent the plight of the Mexican immigrant because, you know, they were in Mexico? I have other problems with it, but I won't go into spoilers.

The monsters were cool when they showed up, but mostly this felt like a film by a VFX guy who saw D9 and said to himself, "Hey, I can do that!"

Cloverfield by Ti West!

Hated putting the fate of the leads at the front of the film.
