Belle & Sebastian - Belle & Sebastian Write About Love (10/12/10)

Song 'I Didn't See It Coming' (duet between Sarah Martin and Stuart Murdoch) played live recently could be on the album. Also 'I'm Not Living In The Real World' sung by Stevie Jackson.

Looks like this album might have the democratic songwriting nature of their mid-period material, which to be honest I'm not too big on. When Stuart Murdoch is the main maestro turning the knobs in the studio is when their best stuff shines through. Hence why I consider both Dear Catastrophe Waitress and The Life Pursuit mighty, mighty comebacks.

On the bright side, I do like everything I've heard so far ('I'm Not Living In The Real World' is irresistibly catchy and likable), including the snippet of 'I Want The World To Stop' playing on their site.

I actually really liked The Life Pursuit but I'll never expect to get anything quite as brilliant as If You're Feeling Sinister and Tiger Milk ever again.

New updates on the Belle and Sebastian front:

A video was posted on the B&S website that includes two full songs from the new album, plus small instrumental snippets from other songs (old and new). I love both new songs, but I am almost a Murdoch apologist at this point. The video is a half hour long, but the songs are worth it. Plus you can queue up the video and skip around if you like. See it at http://www.belleandsebastian.com/

Also, at the same website you can download the title track from 'Write About Love' for free for a limited time. Also, a good song. Download it, or listen to it streaming, HERE.

So, three songs from the new album can be heard in pretty high quality. I read somewhere that Murdoch wrote all, but two of the new songs, so that is a good sign for the new album.

Finally, concert tickets are available for a host of North America cities. I will be seeing them for the first time next month in L.A.

LEAKED.

If you like B & S, you'll love this album. Feels like a hybrid of If You're Feeling Sinister and The Life Pursuit. Has the delicate touch and romanticism of Sinister along with the polished shine and robust architecture of Pursuit.
