Oh, and there's a trailer too.

The last scene in the trailer definitely had me wondering.

Other than that, can't wait for it to come out.

This looks fantastic. Honestly, I hadn't heard anything about what the movie was about, I'd only heard about the Kunis/Portman stuff. But this trailer sold the shit out of the movie.
Should I turn in my Man Card if I'm more excited by the thought of a new Clint Mansell score than I am Portman and Kunis gettin' down and dirrrty?
This looks utterly fantastic. I was surprised to see that it looks more stylistically in line with The Wrestler than Aronofsky's previous films.
That looked awesome. I just hope it didn't spoil most of the movie. The end twist there seems like it would have a lot of build up to it.
I was wondering if he'd turned this script into something interesting. Looks like the jury is definitely still out from my point of view... I just don't see it.

Looks great visually. Story will be lacking in the end, I feel.
Have you read the script?
Great trailer. Looks really intense. And my god those are probably the 2 hottest young actresses working today.

The poster is terrific as well. Kinda pissed that "The Fountain" isn't on Aronofosky's credits.
My anticipation for this film knows few bounds.
BELOW was written by Aronofsky so the supernatural elements in the this film should not come as a total shock
post #12 of 70
Every time I think I know what this movie's about, something else blindsides me. Bring it on.
I was feeling kind of skeptical about this but this trailer has really piqued my interest. The film that came to mind while watching this was Bergman's Persona. This also seems to be far more supernatural/spooky than I was expecting. Reading the log line, I imagine the look of the film to be more like Requiem or the Fountain, and I find it kind of refreshing it reminds me more of The Wrestler.
Looks fantastic. And possibly wanktastic, too.
The trailer looks great; it has ballerinas, supernatural, and Portman/Kunis kiss. Portman looks like she really put just about everything in this role. If this turns out to be good I hope she will receive some recognition for this role because I always think she's a terrific actress, but never received the proper respect from the awards committees.

Trailer looked pretty good, and yet I've never understood why straight guys get turned on by male-exclusionary sex. Lesbians don't want to fuck you, guys.

Yes, but I am hoping for some changes from Aronofsky that would improve it.
Wowee. Bring this one on.
Wow, that was really neat. Yeah, the Mansell score is seeming quite menacing, which is cool. Kunis seems more relaxed in the role than she usually is, which is welcome. Oh, anyone think the tracking shot of Portman walking across the street might be a nod to (spoiler?) Repulsion? Might just be his new "go to" shot (as he used them quite a bit in The Wrestler), but it seemed somewhat on purpose. Cassel is looking quite badass , also.
I'm going to disagree with the mainstream and say that in visual terms, this trailer was pretty uninspiring.
Suddenly, the death of the Robocop remake doesn't bother me so much. This looks pretty great. Feels like Aronofsky, but with a twist of Lynch.
Well that looks brilliantly unnerving.

Yeah, I got the wig when Portman's reflection turned around to look at her. And that last shot of red-eyed Natalie was creepy as.

Trailer coulda used more Winona, though.
Am I the only one that got seriously creeped out by the trailer?

This looks great. Finally the Venice Film Festival published the screening schedules so I might try to grab a ticket.
I was also surprised that the cinematography seems more like THE WRESTLER than THE FOUNTAIN or REQUIEM, but I have to admit I felt slight disappointment rather than pleasant surprise. I was hoping for something a little more visually slick and stylized. That's a really minor quibble though, it looks awesome. Love the hints of full blown psychological horror.
So, is Kunis Tyler Durden?
Wonder if Black Swan Theory plays into the plot at all.

I love the trailer, particularly the close-up of the foot spinning. Can't wait to hear the word from the Toronto film festival.

Great great great trailer. Count me among those who were surprised to be a little freaked out by it. It'll be great to see what Natalie can do in what looks like such a meaty role.

forget kissing, one of them is masturbating in a scene... I think.
I should have known with who is directing, but that was really unsettling. Looks like a great might at the movies.
Looks predictably awesome. Loved the hints of a new Mansell score as well. Fuck. So excited for this.

And also...

No offense, Singer. But that's a strange post. Sure, the reactionary and cliched "fuck yeah! Chicks... DOIN IT!!!!" exclamations are just that. But really? The female form is hot. Multiply it times two: hotter. What's so hard to figure out. They're fantasies.
I have already bought a ticket and am standing in line as we speak...

But seriously, I'm seeing this opening day.
Yeah, man... creepy creepy at times. Looks like a slice of excellent tension from Messrs. Aranofsky and Mansell. I'll be there, as usual.
Intense. And as intense as Aronofsky's films already are, this one felt different. From listening to Elvis Mitchell's interview with him back when The Wrestler came out, it looks like Aronofsky's in a stage of his career where he REALLY wants to focus on the performances of the actors rather than the stylistic/technical stuff. I'm not surprised this looks more reminiscent of his approach to The Wrestler.

Yeah, I thought I saw that too but figured it must have been something else. I mean, that would never make it into a non-redband trailer, would it?

I though the same thing. Maybe because I knew that kiss was there but I didn't stop to think that with Aronofsky comes new Mansell.
It looks good though.

Well it's like eight frames of (possible) bed-humping. It's not exactly explicit, just suggestive. She could just be having a nightmare.

To echo Alex, every Aronofsky film's an event. I'm psyched for this one.

ETA: Scott in the comments sectioned mentioned an early Polanski vibe. I can definitely see some Repulsion in there.

And Vincent Cassel being slimy! Awesome!

Nah, he's just bein' French. (But you're right, Cassel is synonymous with awesomeness.)
'Ole Babs Hershey creeped me out a bit in the trailer too while we're at it.
The "bed humping scene" would make a pretty good gif...those that are talented like that.

I had to rewatch and pause it just to look at her...lol. I was like, "what??!??!"

Hershey is starting to look like Karen Black at the end of Burnt Offerings.
I'm getting a little Polanski vibe, but also Kubrick.

All I knew was that it was a "ballerina movie". I should have known better that it would be that simple in DA's hands.
Hope there is good amount of Winona in the movie she needs a boost.

And Judging by the ass, and the hair, and the hand placement I would say that is Kunis rubbing one something fierce on the bed.

And I'm getting more of Polanski meets Bergman vibe.

But all of you going to Torornto I hate you, you get this first, and much more.
lol awesome is Natalie Portman's character physically transforming into a swan? hahahaha

No, but seriously, what?!
The Red Shoe...I mean Eyes, eh?

Definitely seeing some some Lermontov in Cassell's performance there. I like it a lot.
Holy fucking shit. That looks amazing. I need to see this NOW.

Indeed.

This looks suitably creepy and interesting. And I absolutely love the body horror thrown in.

"Death is the Road to Awe" from The Fountain literally makes my eyes water. The man is a genius.
Count me in the crowed that was creeped out by the trailer.

Good Stuff.
Dear lord that "bed humping scene" ....dear lord....

and the last shot totally is wtf!

Looking forward to this...
This trailer is so good that the make-out bit is just the pervy icing on the fun cake. Yup, that's all I got.
