I like how they didn't even put the title on that poster because they know those 2 characters need no introduction to the public.

The official website is also open ...

Pretty horrid teaser image. Looks like someone at New Line liked the Equilibrium theatrical one-sheet.

I've had the poster image for this film in my head since I was a kid. I followed the link to the Freddy VS. Jason site and say that they got it right somewhere at least...
Is it me or does the Freddy makeup in this move look a little too clean and rubbery?
I dig it. Just seeing those two next to each other is pretty cool. The only thing that bothers me is that they've made Freddy and Jason the same height (pretty much). I know it's a design thing, and it keeps it symmetrical, but Jason will be 6'5" at least in this movie, and Englund's playing Freddy even more weasely and hunched to play off on the brains vs brawn angle. I just really wanted to see Jason dwarfing Freddy, I guess.

*EDIT: Love the desktop image on the website though. My shameless excitement for this ball of cheese remains undimmed.

*EDIT AGAIN: The shot in the image gallery of Freddy and Jason squaring off in the boiler room - that's the contrast I was talking about.

Agreed on all counts, but I have to say I like the teaser poster...don't know why.

And once AGAIN I would like re-itterate was is printed at the top of EVERY PAGE...if you don't see it on the site, and it's a big story like this, it's news and I would appreciate it if you would submit it to us as such. There is a site connected to these boards, and that's where the news should be coming from.

End rant. Back to my fanboy drooling over the desktop image.

So very, very cool to see this. I think it's a terrific teaser poster. Just those two icons standing there with the "vs." in the middle is all you need - especially for a teaser. Can't wait to see what the final poster will look like. And yes, if that desktop image doesn't make you want to see the film now I don't know what would.
The 'Desktop Exclusive' button doesn't do anything for me. Is the wallpaper the same as the main image on the website?
That's some sweet stuff right there. This should be good.

Absoulty Awesome!

This is one I been waiting for for almost 10 years

I am buying that poster!
Mm hmm.

Monica Keena.

<img src="http://www.freddyvsjason.com/flash/images/photo/photo6.jpg" alt="" />

She came in and auditioned for "Jeepers 2" so I had a chance to mingle with this little hottie. So very fine. Very fine indeed.

Though I'm still puzzled why she decided to turn "Jeepers 2" down in favor of "F vs. J." She was almost in our movie...almost.

Poster looks pretty cool as does the site. Love that face to face desktop image.
I don't like how they're both standing so rigid... like action figures right out of the box. I wish they both had more of a pose going on.

Still, interesting poster. Could have been better, could have been a hellofalot worse. I would have liked to see an image of Jasons mask and Freddy's knives on the poster, instead of the actual guys.
Another thing: am I the only one who thinks this Jason looks a bit awkward? His mask looks too big for his face, kinda like when I dressed up as Jason for Halloween when I was 12. The mask just looks ill-fitting and the new pics back my belief up.

I agree. That's one of the things that really bothers me when I see stills of this movie. I'm so used to seeing Jason's aged mask throughout the sequels when Kane Hodder was playing him. The mask was torn up from all the wars Jason has been through. The mask they have for FvJ looks too damn clean...almost brand new in some stills. Then in other stills the mask looks ragged the way it should.
I cant even get into the website. It lets me in, the immage of them facing each other comes up and then nothing? where do I click?
Love the poster, love the desktop image even more, already love the movie. A couple things have been bugging me about the movies itself, tho, and they all have to do with Jason's appearance. Why does he have a complete mask again (as someone else already pointed out)? Why does he have both of his eyes again? Why is he wearing sweats, and why is Jason suddenly African-American? That skin of his is almost pitch black.

I'm having the same problem as PuppetMasterFan. NoOoOoOo..

And, I noticed the "clean and rubbery" thing too, Sleepless. Reminds me of the Freddy's Dead makeup, sorta. Yeck.

Must be a problem with your browser 'cause at the bottom of the graphic of Freddy and Jason (face to face) you should have a menu at the bottom of the screen with all the options and goodies.

First off, I dig the poster (inaccuracies and all).

Second, it is becoming apparent that Yu will probably make a very interesting, great looking, different Jason/Freddy movie, but I don't think he gives a rat's ass about what color Kane's undies were in Part 7. I wouldn't expect many nostalgic touches here, but rather a new look for both series. Now hopefully it isn't too different.

...there's an enormous flaw on the poster: Freddy's claw is on the wrong hand...

In one of the stills for the movie, his claw is also on the wrong hand. Freddy has always, ALWAYS worn the claw on his right hand and for whatever reason, this bugs the hell out of me...
For the poster to work as "Freddy" vs. "Jason" they have to be Freddy on the left and Jason on the right. And we need to see weapons, right? They help to identify the characters. And the other limbs are cropped out of the picture, so they fudged the details to suit the concept. Most people wouldn't notice.

I assume he'll have the glove right in the movie. Unless they flop the image for continuity's sake sometimes. (Even Ash's chainsaw was wrong once in Evil Dead 2.)

Now this photo was probably a flub in the publicity department:
<img src="http://www.freddyvsjason.com/flash/images/photo/photo8.jpg" alt="" />
But that would mean Jason is weilding his weapon left-handed. Is that unusual? Maybe Freddy changes glove hands for some reason yet-to-be-revealed.

My thoughts on Jason's clean and ill-fitting mask? Maybe it has something to do with the Jason timeline... Is this a current day Jason or one from many years ago? Before he had time to decompose under the ground and lake a few dozen times?

And now, my favorite image from the site. For obvious reasons...

So lets analyse this Ryan.....

You can be in one of two movies.

One (JC2) has a moderate fan base, but the original got very mixed reviews. it ws fairly low budget, and had actors of little name recognition.

Or....

You can be in a movie with 2 of horrors most notable icons. The budget for advertising along will likely dwarf the other films entire produtction cost many times over. Robert Englund, a househol name in Horror and Sci-Fi circles, is in this film, and it will likley hit 2 to 3 times the number of screens.... and stay in theatres quite a few weeks longer.

I really don't see much choice here.
This movie looks to have a whole bunch of breasts in it. I'd say at least seven.
Some people go to see movies just for breasts. I doubt anyone would do this. People would go to the movie becuase its Freddy vs Jason!

Heh, heh...well, all Monica and her agent really weighed was the $$$. Plain and simple, my man, that's all it came down to. How much she was gonna get for the role in JC II.

I'm not sure about the screen thing. MGM is just a big a heavyweight as New Line and they'll most likely release both films on a equal amount of screens.

Other cons to think about when considering starring in "Freddy vs. Jason": there hasn't been a Freddy film in nearly 10 years (the last two didn't do so hot) and Jason X not only sucked but diminished quickly at the box office.

In any case, Monica was seriously interested, but her "representation" wasn't pleased with the dough. That's all there is to it.

(And before we make this a "F vs. J" and "JC II" conversation...let's hold all talk until both films are on screen in August.)

**And another thing**

We rolled cameras in June and wrapped in August. "Freddy vs. Jason" began photog in November. She could've been in TWO horror franchises and made enough money to chill for a year or two.

All I know is, the worst of either franchise is better than the original Jeepers Creepers. Who knows? Maybe the sequel will be great genre fun...but I highly doubt it.
Jeepers Creepers get WAY too much grief from a lot of you people. Its not a bad movie, and there are far worse films out there that get far too much praise simply for the sake of being cult. Jeepers Creepers was fun, the sequel will be fun. Freddy Vs Jason is a serperate entity altogether, there should be no comparision.

The 1st half of Jeepers Creepers did a great job of building tension with 2 of the dumbest characters in horror movie history who just had to investigate bodies being thrown down a chute. The 2nd half is all downhill when you find out it's a creature that likes to impersonate Jackie Chan stunts doing backflips and running over cars.

THANK GOD this thread derailed into a Jeepers Creepers love it or hate it thread. That doesn't happen around here near enough...

*looks around*

The correct term is boobies people. Say it with me now... boobies.
Actually its knockers ,Jabroni.
I have a HUGE problem with him looking the way he does (JV) Freddy you really cant change. But Jason needs his scars IMHO, he went from looking neat in 3 to looking fucking BAD ASS in 6-7-8 now back to just neat again!

They should have atleast left Tommys Slice in the top left corner.

Oh well I am still all over this like nobodys business. Whats funny is half the "Kids" who might see this prolly ahve no clue how AWESOME these movies were/are compared to likes of Scream, IKWYDLS, FInal Destination,JC etc...

Hey Ryan,
I probably missed this, but what did you actually do on Jeepers Creepers 2?
Let's just call 'em boobie-knockers.
On a more serious note, I am stoked to see this. Even if the mask is ill fitting.
Like the 1-sheet and desktop images. But, really, all I give a shit about is whether or not the film will suck.
