Three of your favorite things plus Devin?

(Tee hee.)

Or, wait a minute, were you already making this joke and just not counting film as one of the things? Hmm ...

At the Movies 2.0 with Devin Faraci and El Guapo.

Really though some kind of travel related film thingie. Maybe something with G4. Who knows?

Every episode will end with Armond making a racist joke about white people to which Devin counters with a hilarious quip, they both point at each other in jest with a mutual laugh approaching, then freeze frame/credits.

I think a Politically Incorrect version of at the movies would be kick ass. You get a moderator and 3 people who dislike a movie and 3 people who like a movie going back and forth. If this isn't Devin's project, Nick should get all over a web version of this.

Welfare.
It would be cool if he went the television route. I think Devin should take over for Ben Lyons on E! or something. He would be good on G4 as well though.

Of course, I think Ben Lyons should just be removed...

Duchovney did the same thing after leaving THE X FILES, so anything's possible I guess

Devin would fucking hate this thread.

Why? We can assume he's staying in the field of film criticism, so people here are discussing a topic related to film. Also, I'm certain he'd be honored that there is so much speculation and interest about his next move

Ack that picture is NSFW.

I'm not seeing any junk in it. Just a couple of pubes at the most.

The only thing that picture makes unsafe is my pants.

Fair enough, I just have poor eyesight and am not wearing my glasses right now, and when I saw that photo I had to stare at it for like 10 seconds before I figured out what was going on with the tea cups. In retrospect, I'd rather not have been seen staring at that photo while at work. This lead me to label it NSFW, though I guess such a thing could be a matter of opinion

It's being supported by his thighs, Kate. If what you THINK was happening was happening, he'd have had a Venti.

G4 or "Empire" magazine.
I'm thinking either hosting a new show on G4 or a gig acting as sidekick/"bad cop" to Gordon Ramsay's "good cop" on TV's Hell's Kitchen.

I get where you're coming from, but it'd be horrible for people from CHUD to read "pre-watershed" Devin. There's a lot to like about that magazine, but they don't want a rogue's gallery. Uncensored Devin would stick out like the sorest of thumbs if you slotted him in there.

Herzog doesn't have personal assistants; he has henchmen.

Devin is leaving CHUD to devote himself full-time to his side project, WWTDD.com.
so where is devin?
We won't find out officially for months (although there is a correct answer somewhere in this thread).
The fact that it won't be news for months makes me think it's a film project. But the fact that he's said himself that he'll continue to write about movies is confusing. Why would it take months to move to another journalist posistion? It wouldn't.

I believe that he's been hired by NEWSWEEK or TIME, and they need him to stop writing on CHUD so that he can get working on content for them, and they also probably want to check through his CHUD history to make sure he's never written anything racist ETC before they make his hiring official.

Why would he jump the CHUD ship before knowing for sure that another one is waiting to pick him up?

Besides Devin's raging leftism, Kate, what planet do you get an inkling of your thoughts from?
Kate, Print is dead. Foretold to us by the great Spengler in the year 1984.

The terrifying abyss of nothingness that is her mind.

There's no way Devin's going to Newsweek or Time.

I kind of muddled my point yesterday which is that his gig probably doesn't start till there is a magazine redesign or something, some launch of new online content perhaps, and they need him to stop posting on CHUD in the interim. Essentially, they need him to generate no additional opinions/writing that needs vetting, and he's probably already signed a contract which would forbid him from writing at CHUD till his new job starts, that's why his CHUD work ended so suddenly that Friday a few weeks ago

And it's just my guess. My back up (unofficial) guess, if you'll recall, was either LAT or NYT. I may be wrong, but if I'm right, or close, I'd hope people would give me some credit

Why would Devin leave the web, arguably the emerging top dog of media, for a media format that is on its last legs if not dead.

Print media is a step backward from what he was doing. How many times have you held a physical copy of HuffPo in your hands?

Jesus tits, woman.

I actually thought it was the new At The Movies. Guess not.

I explained it earlier in the thread . Anyway, it's just my guess and we are all entitled to one

On twitter he wrote that he's watching the british comedy series Brass Eye as research for his new job, but of course, that could be bullshittin'.

He also wrote that he's going to interview people and do podcasts.

"My next job should let me do everything I loved at CHUD and then some."
Good. I remember finding exactly one podcast with Devin in it and no follow ups. It's a shame. He's the kind of guy who has to the potential to make the most popular film podcast on the internet.

I only hope he will still be doing reviews.
He was always good whenever he was on the CHUDshow and superb the times he appeared on Slashfilmcast. If he's going to make podcasts of his own as well as interviewing folks and writing reviews my world will be a better place.
