2010 FIBA World Championship

It just dawned on me that there isn't a thread for this. What gives? Are people in the US pissed with the selection? Or aren't they interested unless the team completely dominates? Or football has started and fuck everything else?

Anyway. So far with the exception of Spain seeming a little weaker than before the favorites seem to be clearing house pretty consistently. Argentina has its group in the bag, the Turkey - Greece game today will decide another group winner and the US not without some luck has taken first place in their group. Only Spain's group is in flux and that's only because Spain isn't playing that great.

As for Greece, we certainly aren't putting on our A game even if we're still undefeated. I hope with the return of the guys that were suspended for the fight with Serbia we'll liven up a bit because they're both pretty important for our game.

It's a joke. The Americans best players aren't even there. And this American team has barely played together. Win or lose it hardly matters.

A couple weeks late to the party on this thread, but I did watch most of the U.S. games and quite enjoyed them.

We sent a "B" team over there, with the exception of Durant, who was brilliant. But they played hard, were well coached and basically kicked ass.

Aside from the one scare in pool play (Brazil), it was a solid tourney for the Red, White and Blue. Be interesting to see what kind of team we send to the Olympics in 2012.
