I just don't understand what motivates a person to do something like this. Unless he's demanding a second Shark Week. Then I get it.

Nooj snapped!

Probably from watching Scott Pilgrim too fucking much.

*EDIT* To take some of the load off of Kush's link.

Focus must be given on how people can live WITHOUT giving birth to more filthy human children since those new additions continue pollution and are pollution. A game show format contest would be in order.
BWAH-HAHAHAHAHAH!!!! My guess is before all is said and done this guy will have relieved the Earth of one less filthy human. Or rather the Silver Springs police will....heh...

Holy shit...it's Jet Li!

Send Bear Grylls in.

Are we sure this isn't just Mike Rowe doing an episode of Dirty Jobs?
Apparently some people don't like it when their myths are busted.
Shit I kind of agree with him about the breeder programming.

Nothing is more important than saving them. The Lions, Tigers, Giraffes, Elephants, Froggies, Turtles, Apes, Raccoons, Beetles, Ants, Sharks, Bears, and, of course, the Squirrels.
Well yeah. Of course. The Squirrels. Lets not forget the Froggies though.

It's often hard to find these guys some publicity.

I hope to Gawd O'Reilly books them.

Maybe he's angry about Sarah "Wolf's Bane" Palin getting her own nature show.

So I guess they killed him?

I thought that game-show stuff at the start of the thread was a joke - oh how I envy past-me.

He finishes his manifesto with:

Quote:
MAKE IT INTERESTING SO PEOPLE WATCH AND APPLY SOLUTIONS!!!!
To come so close to saving the world, only to fail at the very last moment...

You are the weakest link. Goodbye.

...what?!? That never gets old.

Shut up.

And he's dead.

Quote:
SILVER SPRING, Md. — Police shot and killed a gunman who held three hostages for several hours Wednesday at the Discovery Communications building in Silver Spring, Md., authorities said. They said the hostages were safe.

At least one explosive device went off when he was shot, and other explosive devices could still be in the building in Montgomery County in suburban Washington, D.C., they said. It was not clear whether there was any damage.

Montgomery County police Chief Thomas Manger said no one was believed to have been injured beyond the gunman, whose condition he said was unknown. Other law enforcement authorities told NBC News that the gunman was dead.

The building in the close-in suburb of Washington was safely evacuated, including the Discovery Kids Place day care center, police said.

...

‘The planet does not need humans’
Lee appears to have posted environmental and population-control demands online, saying humans are ruining the planet and that Discovery should develop programs to sound the alarm.

“I want Discovery Communications to broadcast on their channels to the world their new program lineup and I want proof they are doing so. I want the new shows started by asking the public for inventive solution ideas to save the planet and the remaining wildlife on it,” the alleged manifesto reads...

Lee said at the time that he experienced an ‘‘awakening” when he watched former Vice President Al Gore’s environmental documentary ‘‘An Inconvenient Truth.”
Kate, does Al Gore now have blood on his hands?

Called it! Do I win a prize for this new format?

Police have not identified the suspect, but say he has "concerns" with the Discovery Corporation.

Lee was arrested in 2008 for disorderly conduct and littering on the grounds of the building, according to police reports.

Sources are saying the suspect is allegedly upset about the documentary called "Whale Wars."

A daycare with about 100 children inside the building was also evacuated. WTOP's Kate Ryan, who is on the scene, says children were being rolled out in cribs. The children were taken to a nearby McDonald's.
Gold, Jerry! Gold!

That's an absurd and offensive question, if you were in fact being serious

This individual was clearly disturbed. However, if your question is "will the ravages of climate change and the increased global tensions that result 'set off' more mentally unbalanced people?" then my answer would be, tragically, probably yes.

Yes. That was my question exactly.

As do I. They glamorize parents for having an exorbitant amount of children. The Duggars are famous simply for having a ton of kids. I know people have gotten fame for a lot worse, but still.

It isn't absurd and offensive when straight from the horse's mouth you get, "I experienced an awakening from Al Gore's AIT."

I doubt he spoke as absurdly as that by abbreviating the movie title but I just wanted to make sure you understood what he said.

That's like blaming Columbine on NATURAL BORN KILLERS, I won't indulge in that kind of nonsense. Because Al Gore pointed out frightening facts about the planets future, he caused someone to take hostages? No, the person was crazy. Period.
So how long until this guy's a Muslim?
Asians Who Snap kinda have their own growing stigma going on, honestly.
No, sorry, that doesn't fit with the current narrative.
The sad misguided derangement in this story kinda reminds me of The Assassination of Richard Nixon.

(Movie Talk! *high-five*)

Good to know your intellectual standards on such situations. I hope you stick with these standards in the future.

Man, talk about off his fuckin Nut.
I could see him being angry at TLC for turning into something of a freak network with morbidly obese people, or teenage moms.
But then it seems more like he just chose discovery channel, due to his close proximity to them, and their overall popularity, then throws in some more random crazy things that didn't actually happen (the promoting of child birth and the WOMD's, I've personally NEVER seen anything to do with birth on the channel, and the most WOMD stuff I've seen is watching shit explode on TimeWarp)
I only read a few bits of his demands, it reads like it's a friggen Onion article what with his first demand being that they "MUST have daily television programs at prime time
slots based on Daniel Quinn's 'My Ishmael'..."
On the plus side, at least he wasn't bright enough to actually hurt anybody before getting shot himself.
Discovery Communications owns the Discovery Channel and TLC.

It's a shame more people aren't going to quite get that reference, because it's 100% spot on.

I like to think that at CHUD, at least one person will always get the reference, no matter how obscure. Thanks for being that guy.
