Glee Season 2

I have mixed feelings about this show. It definitely started going off the rails in the second half of season one. I am hopeful they can bring it back on track. But
Ryan Murphy's track record isn't so great.

There have been leaks of the Britney Spears episode online (she's looking good again!), which I won't spoil. But I will entice you with super airbrushed pics of Lea Michele with no pants on in Glamour Magazine.
Yeah for airbrushing and no pants!

They really need to get the pacing right this season. Season 1 was all over the map. I know the format with new musical numbers every week presents some big challenges. But they have a great ensemble cast to work with to spread out some of that burden. And they have lots of big names lining up to guest star. So long as they don't overdo it, should be a fun season.

But when does Santana get her own episode?

S2 Promo

I heard thy want to shoot in NY this year so I'm guessing they make it to nationals.

Can't wait for the new season. Uneven or not, loved everything there was to last season and looking forward to this one.
I'm ready for it. Sooo ready for the fall season to start.

This is being incredibly generous to Ryan Murphy. You're nicer to him than I.

S2 clip
Will & Sue. Miss this show.

Consistency of character is all I'm asking for. I love the show but it's so rag-tag with the characters.

Paltrow to Guest on Glee
2 episodes so far playing a substitute teacher for Glee. This is how they need to do guest stars. Make them do multiple episode story arcs.

I'm betting that is when the do Coldplay.

And Glee is up tomorrow.
The 'songbook' eps have generally been the weakest. I prefer when they explore a theme with unexpected picks.

And yes, time for a Brittany/Santana special.
Tonight's the night. Giddy as a schoolgirl. But when do I get my Jacob Ben Israel episode?
What the hell happened to Lea Michele? She was so cute last season.
So are these two going to make out in the bathroom or what?
Finn's Cheerios audition has been the only thing I've liked this episode. But that was almost good enough to make up for the rest of this.

They sure are throwing in some over-the-top serious moments for their commercial breaks, huh?
Better than most of the back-half Season 1 episodes, if only because there was more story and less song of the week.
Aw, so long possibly mute black guy.
I thought it was a good start for the season. I like that the songs make no apologies now - they dive into fantasy which is how I like my musical numbers. What can I say, I'm a SINGIN' IN THE RAIN guy.

I agree that Lea Michele shouldn't have lost that weight. That sexy knee-high sock wearing temptress is gone. And the character's even more vain than last year if that's possible.

Poor Coach Tanaka.

Still, it's a good start. A good (but not great) episode but it kicks off the season well.

Good start. I actually really enjoyed that this episode wasn't so gimmicky and the songs felt more organic to the story. Love the new girl. She sang "Listen" 1 million times better than Beyonce. I have to fast foward through that scene every time I watch Dreamgirls. The new boy's lips are so big even Black guys think, "He's got some big ass lips." Coach Biste... I don't know what to think. She was used successfully in teaching us all a lesson about tolerance, and it was cool to see Schu and Sue teaming up together, but I'm hoping she was just there to set up the new group dynamic of Finn losing his status. Loved that Quinn got her claws back. I didn't think they could make Rachel more unlikeable, but they did. Happy that Mike is getting featured more; sad that Matt is out. Where's Emma?!

Finally, I don;t know if its my TV or my ears, but I could not make up what people were saying in the first few scenes. Did Rachel say she was "doing" Finn all summer? And what did Brittany say in her first introduction? I couldn't make out anything save for the bit about her cell phone vibrating.

Official story is that she is now a vegan. Unofficially, she undertaken some drastic weight loss measures and is acting the diva.

Stupid storm made me miss it. Glad the put in on Hulu right away. Preview for the Brit/Brit episode looks great.
Episode wasn't bad at all. I'll admit that I was dreading watching tonight. I thought that they were going to drop the ball like the second half of last season but it was pretty good. I missed Coach Bieste's sayings. All I heard was Sue's response which was pretty funny. Dropping Coach Tanaka is bull-shit. His shorts were the shit.

I didn't notice that Lea was so skinny in the show but that August picture of her is scary.

Thank goodness for closed-captioning.

Brittany's vibrating cellphone line was from a commercial. The line I couldn't make out during the show was "People thought I went on vacation but actually I spent the summer in the sewers."

As for Beists's lines:

- "Do not get up in The Panther's business, lady. You're all coffee and no omelet." (Sue: "That doesn't make any sense.")

- "The Glee Club? You came in 3rd last year and you're asking for more money? That's a steer with 6 teats and no oink. *Squeal!* (Sue: "That doesn't make any sense.")
Sooo glad to have Glee back, but poor Lea looks sick. I don't mean that really, but too skinny I guess. She's still a cutey though.

Charice was great, and I think the new football player is gonna be a win too. At least I hope Charice is gonna come back, but even if she doesn't, if she gets to sing against Rachel a bunch it should be entertaining.
Charice can motherfucking belt it. I'm on the Vocal Adrenaline bandwagon this season
post #24 of 470
Wanted more of Quinn vs. Santana, but Brittany's "stop the violence" was great.
Finn dancing. Hilarious.

Charice singing. Goosebumps.

Lea Michele. SO SKINNY.
Lea is really skinny, but I think she looks a lot better with bangs.

Speaking of which, do any of the other males in here feel guilty about oogling the girls on this show? I mean there's supposed to be in high school... but Lea's cute, and Santana & Quinn are almost offensively hot.

Good start to the season, let's see if they can keep it up without having every character date every other character by episode 3.
Watching what I missed from last night.

The "Coming Home" joke was awesome.
I can't keep all the news I read straight, but the new football player's probably going to end up being Kurt's boyfriend, right? That would certainly make the "balls in my mouth" line take on a new context.

Also does Charice have that much of an accent in real life? If so, it makes her singing even more astounding.

Coach Beiste actress Dot Jones is a 15-time arm wrestling champ and stands 6'3" tall!
Charice was great. When she growled the "you" during the second verse I got goosebumps. Not only can she sing but she's got great emotional phrasing. I'll miss her when she's not on.

The rest of the show was pretty average. I liked Brittany's line "I wanted to touch her" and Finn's dancing but the rest was skippable. Needs more Puck!

Not sure if Big Lips Bieber will be the boyfriend or not. I read somewhere last week that they put out a new casting call for a guy to play a gay high school-aged character.

Awesome! Finally found the Glee thread!

Extremely impressed with Charice, but when I found out she had been singing "Listen" for easily the past 2 years it lessened my awe just a tad. Still it's amazing for a voice like that, coming from such a small package. Similar to dynamite.

Very much enjoyed the first episode. I can't see Finn being off the football team for much longer, though there will obviously be some competition between "Big Lips" and him.

I like the seeds of distrust and conflict that have been planted in the New Directions family. There should be a lot of good stuff this year, which should lead to great musical numbers!

And Rachel, just doesn't look like Rachel.

That's almost as bad as the new Vocal Adrenaline (and 30 Rock alum) actor's real first name: Cheyenne. Jeez, his parents were just begging for him to be gay weren't they?

Such a fun mess. Stronger, Toxic, and Heather Morris were the highlights. She dance great. Great lines.

Heather Morris killed it. Lea is annoying beyond belief.

I found this ep to be chaotic and disjointed. Didn't like it at all. I cannot stand when the songs aren't organic to the story. I mean they literally had Santana just say they wanted to get gassed up so they could fantasize about Brittany. Lame. And the sex-o-rama pep rally scene? WTF what that mess?

What's not lame? Brittany doing Brittany. Put a little meat on her bones and she's almost indistinguishable from the real one. Santana is no Madonna though. Madge at 50 dances better than she. And Rachel? No, just no. Not hot.

Schu slow jamming to Michael Bolton was the highlight. And yeah, I got a chuckle from the David at the Dentist nod.

John Stamos = still smokin' hot!
I think it was a horrible idea to devote an entire episode to a specific artist for an episode this early in the season. Parts of the show were fun, but there was really no story or development to make me care about anything that was going on.

Hopefully the producers and showrunners realize people are fans of the show because of the music and the characters - and stop focusing on new ways to make a bunch of cash from iTunes.

Next week's episode looks a little bit better though.

I seriously want to punch her in the face every time she's onscreen. She was always annoying, but I seriously loathe her now.

"Your hair is like a Jewish cloud."

I hate Britney's music but I had a great time with this one. Maybe because, speaking as a straight guy here, the babes were really, erm... great, now I'm naked in Sue's office.

I like Lea Michele, and she was tolerable in this episode, especially with that last song, but goddamn girl, try eating something.

And next week's episode? BERT! NO!

Maybe because I enjoy Brittany's music I hated the covers. They were pretty terrible. I can agree the eye candy was stupendous.

And what did Brittany say about the dentist's office - that it looked the time she was probed by an alien? Her quotes are more random than ever this season.
The "Toxic" cover was the best one, though Heather Morris in the "Slave 4 U" outfit...holy shit, I want that girl's workout plan, stat. She looked incredible.

Don't know why they had a Paramore song closing a Britney-centric episode. She could have sung one of Brit's slow jams. "Everytime" would have perfect for that scene.
Great to see Heather Morris in the spotlight. Couldn't take my eyes off of her. Glad they have the Rachel/Finn relationship on cruise control. And happy to have Rachel not have those annoying bangs at the end of the episode.

It's time to get more Mercedes, Artie and Kurt. Based on the teaser we will get some Kurt story.

I don't know about Will's ex. That seemed completely random. But I guess it gives the writers options.

@Harley: Must have just been licensing. I don't know why else.
