McDonald's hamburger is almost entirely indestructable

I imagine THIS will not stop you fast food eating Chewers. You all love your crap food.

In the name of both art and science, New York photographer Sally Davies decided to buy a hamburger happy meal from McDonald's, set it out on a table, and take a picture of it every day until it disintegrated. That was 137 days ago and the end is nowhere near: The fries look as fresh as the day they came out of the fryer, and the burger — minus a little patty shrinkage — is virtually unchanged.
See photo series here.

I'm all for letting as many people know about this as possible, but that lady ripped off Morgan Spurlock.

Two sides of the same coin. Spurlock showed us what could happen to you when eating this crap. And while most people know that fast food is not healthy for you, seeing a hamburger not decompose after 137 days certainly provided that extra push to never get me to eat one again.

No, he totally did this. Not as long, but only because an intern threw it away after 10 weeks.

And this gal kept it for four years.

Well there you go.

I just dislike she's referring to it as an "art installation" of some kind. But like I said, whatever, keep this shit on the news every week.

Seems like a good place to post this:

Though to be fair I'm not sure what would happen to a garden salad when submerged in hydrochloric acid.

Yeah, I was really wishing they would put a carrot or a potato or something in it as a comparison.

But seriously that black sludge made me want to throw up, makes me happy I haven't eaten that crap in over 10 years. Still, just knowing how many McDonalds cheeseburgers I ate as a kid is enough to make me feel super ill.

I never grew up eating all that much fast food. So I don't regret the ones I've eaten nor am I completely averse to eating at a fast food place once in a while. But this stuff should definitely be put out there. It probably won't change that many minds by itself, but baby steps and all...

That's McDonalds. Burger King, however, that shit comes straight from the cow. I'm sure of it.

I agree, I hate McDonalds but enjoy BK. However, I rarely if ever eat fast food, and while I enjoy cheese burgers a great deal, I usually eat them in restaurants

PS I have a kaiser roll that's been sitting near my toaster for nearly a month, and it's totally unchanged. I bought it at Stop and Shop. I keep thinking "that must be gross, I should toss it!" but then I look over and it's still fine. Creepy..

Do you mean it's not gone stale, or that it hasn't grown mold? Honestly, either would surprise me, even if it was wrapped tightly in plastic. Sandwich buns of any kind generally don't last more than two weeks.

Hasn't grown visible mold. Not tightly wrapped either, it's just in a loose plastic bag

The rolls usually get stale in like a day. It's mummified or something, but looks the same. Also left a package of cupcakes out for more than a month last year, and they were from stop and shop too. Their appearance never changed one bit

God a McDouble sounds good right now. I do love me some crap food. Supersize me made me hungry. Buncha pussies.

I had a McDouble and a McChicken for lunch. Big spender.

A Sara Lee loaf of bread seems to never mold, go stale or change at all. I've left bags in the bread drawer and forgotten* about them for more than a month or two and they still look exactly the same as a new loaf. I've never taken a bite though because they admittedly smell weird.

*It's the only thing in there so if I stop eating sandwiches, it just sits there forgotten.

Man, that would really bother me if I injested McDonalds by waiting a month and then swallowing it when it's funky goo. Fortunately I eat it right away.

Brundlefly sees nothing wrong with this method.
