Well, to be fair you were wearing a t-shirt which said "Kirk Is The Best Enterprise Captain Ever" at the time.

Sir Patrick has killed for less. A shame that, I'd be gutted to meet someone like that and them be a dick, especially someone like Stewart.

I've spent the last four days trying to google a suitable image to represent "astonished" this is the best I could do.

I think that's the biggest risk when going to any convention. Thankfully only Frakes and Stewart have dissapointed me so far.

Thank you, sir. That's the exact reaction I want from at least one executive during our pitch!

Loved your Back to the Future blog, by the way. You really do sum up reactions only film enthusiasts experience amazingly well. The involuntary, wordless arm-waving, the tendency to slightly embellish childhood favourites to the uninitiated, the appreciation for beloved character actors... it's delightful.

I love this blog for much the same reason people love Back To The Future. It's got heart like you read about. There are plenty of people out there who write well about film, are funny, and know their stuff, just the same way there are many films out there that are superbly crafted, but you - like Zemeckis's flick - tick all right boxes with a warmth that's just irresistible. You love film and never let the reader forget it. We could use a few more like ya!
You knocked this one out of the park man. I totally get your enthusiasm for this film as I share it myself. I think in all honesty it's the only perfect Trilogy of films ever made.

I refer you to Emperor Savage's blog where myself and Don S. guest star.

As Ken mentioned there is a Director's cut of this blog in the works. We hope to have it ready for the Blu Ray release. The Blu Ray will feature hilarious outtakes and an "Inside the Blogger's Studio" featuring Ken himself.

Tag-team blog! Tag-team Commando blog!

Great idea and execution, fellas. It's only fitting that a film so perfect for group viewing brought together three of CHUD's finest bloggers. The banter between all three of you is brilliant; before long, I was howling just like I was during the movie itself. Reading this really reminds me of watching the (unrated?) region 1 release with great friends and pizza and having an absolute blast in the process. Like it's the text-transcript of a M.S.T. style commentary.

I was wheeze-laughing during Mike's 80's grenade logic paragraph. Beautiful.

Do we know if the Blu-ray is (or includes) the extended/uncut region 1 version?

The Kenterian Collection™: under-appreciated movies released in the manner in which they deserve!
I just wish we could have somehow mentioned Transformers as well as He-Man.

Seriously though it was a blast to do and we must do it again.
Thanks for the kudos, Bobby Bear! That was indeed a blast to do.
It was my pleasure to read it and comment, Don! All I ask is that you're open to the idea of reader-requested choices, 'cos I can think of a few movies cryin' out for this Commando treatment...

Don, Ken, we have a groupie

Massive thanks Bobby you're the best. Those two have the patience of saints. Having to rely on me to get something done must be maddening.

Loving The Kenterian Collection™ You'll have to get in on the next one, seriously!
Well our upcoming watch-a-long is ripe for the same treatment I think.

Cheers again, man, but it honestly had to be said. All of it. After years of looking for blogs worth reading, I've finally found a host of great ones and they're all under the same roof! I've probably said this before, but it feels like they're written specifically for me.

Thanks a million! It'd be my pleasure to participate next time, especially if it's for T:TM.

I'm nodding and giving a hearty thumbs up right now.

Ok Bobby you're in
Okay, if there are plans to do Transformers: The Movie, you know I'm all up in that.
Well there is a watchalong scheduled for Saturday so it will be freash in our minds.

Thank you, Ken! What say you, Don? Am I welcome?
You'll get no resistance from me, good sir!
Many thanks, Don! You're quite a bunch of fellas. I'll know my place and let you three do your thing, speaking if I'm spoken to, and showing respect otherwise.
Okay, Ken? Any chance you could summarize the details of this watch-along here? I'm skimming the T:TM thread and getting little details here and there. Man, I should have been in on that thread from the beginning. What is wrong with me?
This Saturday at 9am EST we are all watching Transformers the Moive and chatting about it in the Transformers thread.

Nothing complicated just TF love.
Just seeing the facts laid out so clearly brings home its beauty all the more.
Hmmm... I dunno if I'll be able to join in. I usually have to be up at 9 to run errands and stuff... I'll see if I can rearrange things.

I popped you an email chaps.

I have been shamefully absent and neglectful, I have an entry about my travels across the pond: The Bronx is up, the Battery's Down, and Mike is Lost Somewhere in the Middle
post #177 of 189
Wonderful blog, Mike! I know well the feeling of dually trying to keep one's image as slick world-traveler while still being awed by everything around you.

It's exhausting isn't it? My wife managed to take a photo of me just as I noticed the Daily Bugle building (I have no idea what it's called in real life) I'll try and dig it out, it's hilarious/embarassing.

Thanks for reading and your kind words, It's nice to know Im not the only one!
I think it's appropriate just to call it the Daily Bugle building.

I've just discovered it's called The FlatIron Building which admittedly is pretty bad-ass but still...

Great entry, Mike! You're one over on me, as I live in the US and have yet to visit the Big Apple myself. Sad, really.

But I digress... Awesome rundown of your visit!

Thank you partner.

We were only really there by chance, we originally were just going to transfer in JFK on our way back from Orlando but we were able to stay over a day or two. I would recommend it, although I got bad pizza which was pretty heartbreaking. I'm a man who enjoys his pizza.
Great blgo my man, you echoed my own feeling when I visited New York a few years back. You may not be Palin but i'd read a travel blog by you anyday.

But shame on you for forgetting Barry's most famous export, Gavin and Stacey (i'm only half joking, Rob Brydon is the best thing about that show.)

Thank you very much. I can't imagine you being anything but the definition of cool sauntering down Broadway.

I'll say this now. No amount of the brilliant Rob Brydon can save Gavin and Stacey. That program is like nails on a chalkboard to me, but I seem to be alone on that. I'm turning into my Dad.
Your comment about feeling like you knew the city before you got there because of countless hours watching movies of it reminds me of a buddy of mine who lived in NYC for a while and used to get a kind of deja vu brought on by his countless hours playing GTA.

Anyway, thanks for making me envious dude.

Humble apologies, I hope we can still be chums. I'm a bit of a GTA nut myself, the geography is changed around a bit but things like Broadway are replicated in worrying detail (considering the carnage that takes place). I would worry that someone might have a Manchurian Candidate style snap and start some zany mayhem.
Great to see you back in blogging action, Mike... and in style!

My small-time muck savage credentials were too obvious for me to even try adopting a slick image when I was in New York. They were written all over my wide-eyed face, I imagine.

Sorry to hear that, man. I've not been back in years, but the New York pizza I was fortunate enough to sample is still the benchmark. Even over genuine Italian pizza.

See now that I don't believe. My image is of you taking to the Macy's Day Parade like Ferris Bueller and rocking out to Twist and Shout subsequently owning the city.

Thank you again dude.

You're very welcome, kind sir!

Somehow I missed this until now. I must've thought I'd already read the last post for some strange reason. Nonetheless, I was coming in to say how much I'd love you to get back on the blog trail again, spotted it, and here we are...

Re: Bueller - that made me laugh, but you flatter me, mate. I wish I could say that's how it'd be! Deep down, though, I know I'm really so much more of a Cameron, the guy shouting "YOU'RE CRAZY!" to the person on the parade from the side...

Unless, of course, it's in the middle of one of those wacky Mike and Bobby flicks wherein we both waste some variety of fools. In that case, I'd be all over that parade float and the mic atop it like a mouthful of coke spat all over Ed Rooney's smug face.

"C'mon, c'mon, c'mon, c'mon, ba-by, now!"...
