This was the movie that I chose for my 11-year-old birthday party at the Movie Theater. I enjoyed it then.
I recently caught it on Starz, and some of it is still pretty crazy. Paul Giamatti steals the movie as Big Crazy Jewish Producer. I never noticed how little Frankie Muniz's character is in the movie once they reach Hollywood, and Amanda Bynes's character felt...odd. Like she was Muniz's big sister, instead of just a friend.
The message was nice, lie to your parents so you can prove that you're trustworthy. Ends justify the means.
