I've already contacted Nexus7 to be one but I need a couple more.

Looking for people who have been here for at least 2 years and who have a solid reputation. In other words, no drama queens or power mad geeks.

I think it only took me about a week when I started posting here to be called the Internet Nanny. I've since learned to lurk moar, so hey, I'll throw my name in the hat. I don't pick stupid fights, and I don't hate anybody on the boards. Also, a good chunk of free time helps.

EDIT: Alright, yeah, I've been outranked. S'cool.

Not that the man isn't already busy enough being awesome and everything, but Phil would be a good, fair mod. Ditto DaveB. Jake would be too pretty and distracting.

What exactly is the Mod job? I know about banning and stickying, but what else? I'd be interested.

I also recommend Phil for Mod status. He's a gent.

Various things for a Mod to do.

- Helping new members
- renaming/moving threads when needed
- help ease disputes between members
- make sure people stay on topic in threads

Basically a Mod is here to help and keep the forum a friendly place to hang out.

I was a mod a long time a go and it sucked. I'm happy just popping in when I want to and ignoring the people who are lame. Have at it boys.

Eileen, can we get a list of current mods? I have no idea who they are any more. The last time I noticed anyone besides Devin modding was Jason P. Thompson, who went a little power hungry.

Right now Diva I'm it. JGButler is an admin but has his hands full with site design and all other techy things with the site (plus column contributions). Alex is mod over creature corner and video games.

Alex should be bumped to full mod. Also, you should trust more in the site writers that are constantly here and have proven to be very level headed. Like Trevor.

Like to pose a question for Eileen and the staff.

1) Would it be possible to improve the Search Engine in the future? It seems that after a certain period of time, many threads seem to disappear despite what keywords you use. There's a difficulty in finding certain Threads in the past (e.g Worst Theatre Experience) because of this.

It'd be nice to be able to have a decent search engine on the boards, but in the meantime, here's my Pro Tip:

1) Go to Google. www.google.com, if you please.

2) Search for "[thing you want to search for] site:chud.com/forum"

3) Enjoy!

4) Clean your lab station.

Or just learn your keywords. Whenever i want to search for a movie, i never use the title. Thread titles almost never show up.
But for example, if i wanted to search for, let's say.. SALT. And i know Jolie, Ejiofor and Schreiber are in it? I just search for the least common denominator. Ejiofor will do it. And the thread will be close to the top of the list.

I love that you can come up with as specific a keyword search as you can imagine, and what you are looking for will always be listed after the B Action Movie Thread in the search results.

With the exception of Trevor the new moderators will not be able to ban members at this time but they can perform all other functions on the forum.
