Minimalist Movie Posters

Hey everyone, I just stumbled across this earlier today. Some of you may have seen this before, but I figured I'd share.

Worth1000.com ran a contest wherein folks would submit their designs for minimalist movie posters, and most of them are pretty damn sweet.

This is one of my favorites

Here's a link to the website.

Love This Is Spinal Tap and Inception. The Fifth Element one is really sexy in its way.

It took me a minute to realize what was going on in the poster for The Fifth Element. You're right, it IS another good one.

Some of them aren't bad, while some of them miss the point completely - and look like they were done by kids.

Empire Magazine has a section in each issue where they have a designer do something similar. I couldn't find a collection of ones he's done but the more recent ones include Alice in Wonderland, Sex and the City and The A-Team.

Some of those are definitely cool aesthetically but I'm getting pretty sick of this as a design concept for fan art. I wouldn't mind if it caught on a bit more for actual official marketing material, but it's being run into the ground on the internet.
