Favorite Twilight Zone Episodes

It's really really hard to choose one, but I always found "Nothing in the Dark" to be really touching and sweet.

The first season is the only one I've seen completely, so from those 30-something episodes I really loved "Third From the Sun" and "People Are Alike All Over". The former for actually surprising me with the twist, its direction and actually being a bit suspenseful. The latter for being nice and cynical.

Oh and of course "Time Enough at Last".

Yeah, all about "Time Enough at Last".

Oops, I meant to hit "quote" and hit "edit" instead, Elvis. These super powers take some getting used to.

I love "Time Enough At Last". Even the completely wicked and cruel ending aside, Burgess Meredith knocks is a great nebbish. Never would have expected that, watching Rocky.

I got to meet George Clayton Johnson last year and compliment him for his writing in that episode. Guy looked like a bit looney, but was sharp as a tack in regards to Hollywood and the future of getting more personal work out to audiences.

I've only seen a handful of Twilight Zone episodes, so I can't honestly say which one is my favorite. But I recently watched The Monsters Are Due on Maple St and really enjoyed that one. I followed that up with the 2002-2003 remake of that episode and didn't enjoy that one so much. Bye bye subtext... hellooooooo SUPERtext! But Titus Welliver was a welcome sight.

Purchasing the box set of all five seasons last year is by far one of the best gifts anyone could get for themselves. Considering how amazing some of the reviews of the first season blu ray are, now is the time to make the plunge. You really can't go wrong with the investment. 156 episodes and I can safely call out anywhere from 8-12 duds in the entire run. We're talking episodes that simply didn't do anything for me. And then maybe 10-15 more that had tackled some interesting ideas or an inspired performance but little more. Balance that among a majority of the best half hours (and a few killer 60 minute installments from season 4) I've ever spent in front of a television.

With that said, keep your eye out for some of these jewels:

"The Howling Man", "Back There", "Will the Real Martian Please Stand Up?" "The Obsolete Man", "Five Characters in Search of an Exit", "The Changing of the Guard", "Miniature", and "No Time Like the Past". - Could go on and on.

It really should be noted, that I would always get excited when Matheson's or Beaumont's name came up in the writing credit, but the consistency of quality from Rod Serling himself is absolutely peerless.

Though it's not my personal favorite, To Serve Man is kind of hilarious. Also, the pilot. It's SUCH an embarressing shame that the Simpsons managed to spoil most of the Twilight Zone for me. At least they built on the gags instead of just repeating them. Family Guy.

I really like the Shatner one with the little fortune teller machine.

Also, The Talking Tina doll episode!

It's about as subtle as a jackhammer, but I really love "I Am the Night-Color Me Black." I like "Two" a lot but I'm a sucker for both post apocalyptic stories and for Charles Bronson. "Deaths-Head Revisited" is just superb. Can't go wrong with "Nightmare at 20,000 feet." And "To Serve Man" is indeed hilarious and great.

There are really so damn many that you could go on and on.

I'm not super familiar with the 80s series but I always really liked Wes Craven's "Dealer's Choice" starring Morgan Freeman, M. Emmet Walsh, Morty Seinfeld, and Dan Hedaya as Satan.

TZ is still my favorite television series, so this feels rather like trying to choose which eye I prefer to see with.

The Shelter
He's Alive
The Lonely
Night Of The Meek
Walking Distance
Printer's Devil
The New Exhibit
On Thursday We Leave For Home
Number 12 Looks Just Like You
Caesar And Me

Damn near every episode mentioned in this thread qualifies for me.

The ones where the meaning of life is going around driving people crazy and where Hitler is tutoring young Dennis Hopper.

- The Changing of the Guard is one that gets over looked alot. A teacher forced to retire feels he didnt inspire his stupids as he is about to kill himself The ghost of former stupids show up and tell him what he taught helped them do the right thing

Yeah that one's amazing. Almost made me cry when I first saw it.

What a small world! I was JUST watching The Twilight Zone last night!
On of my favorite episodes would have to be Maple Street.
