Will do, Nick.
I have been consistently impressed with the writing talent brought to bare by CHUD's DVD REVIEW SQUAD. I recently commented at length on THE ROAD DVD REVIEW, as I found the DVD reviewer possessed superlative insight into the film. Actually, I agreed with that review more than I did Devin's official take.
As for the perception that the DVD Forum lacks activity: For me, the problem is often times I am not interested in the DVD being reviewed (NFL Highlights, ETC). However when it's a movie I'm interested in I always read them. They are reliably worthwhile. I will endeavor to respond to the threads more as well.
PS I would like to see films that lack bonus features pilloried for their stinginess. In recent months, I've even come across DVDs that lack scene selections. It's a disgrace that studios are plunging the DVD market back into the 1990s simply because they're lazy, content royalty fees have gone up, and they're trying to push consumers to blu-ray*. CHUD should stand up for the DVD consumer and use it's soap box to speak out against DVDs lacking in content. It may be spitting into the wind, but perhaps it's worth a shot. (Just IMHO). I think perhaps the decreasing quality of DVDs contributes towards antipathy about new DVD releases. We're rarely wowed by great discs these days
*which I'd buy if I could afford it
