She wasn't underweight for
Dukes of Hazzard, at least. She wasn't scrawny in that film. She was toned and you could clearly see lean muscle definition on her. Having said that, I do remember seeing her a little while after that flick was released and she looked scary-skinny. The thing is that these women get more and more praise as their waistlines get smaller and smaller. I remember when Lindsay Lohan first started to lose weight after
Mean Girls came out. She wasn't as small as she is now, but she'd allegedly had the flu and lost a little weight in the hospital. Her waist was noticeably smaller when she was seen out and about again. She said in an interview that after she got out of the hospital, people suddenly started to compliment her on how good she looked and she thought, "Well, did I look bad before?" Similarly, I never heard Jessica get as much praise for her looks as she did for
Dukes. After that movie was done, I'm sure she felt a ton of pressure to maintain that look, but it's impractical to expect someone to look like that forever. As long as her health's alright, fine by me.
And really, Jessica's problem isn't her size so much as it is her fashion sense. No matter what size you are, you have to dress to compliment your body. I'm in pretty good shape, but I'd look like shit in that outfit, too.
