The movie hits this week. Ishiguro is one of my favourite writers and I don't think he's written anything better than this poignant dystopian novel (high praise). The movie is good but while I don't necessarily agree with Ishiguro's assertion that his own books are unfilmable (yet, anyhow) none of the distinguished filmmakers have quite yet been able to nail the sublimely understated qualities of his writing. Highly recommended - even qualifies as science-fiction.
